I'm writing as Michael Leunig for my context pieces :-) it's really fun because he's so cynical and quirky, and incorporating that into my writing is always fun!
This is my introduction:
THE FEAT IN GRAFFITI:
By: Michael Leunig
I have recently discovered that the ritualistic stroll down the pavement beside Clifton Hill Railway Station is nothing short of a spiritual awakening. It is a memorable pilgrimage into the world of cigarette butts smeared in the genetic blueprint of red lipstick-wearers, used condoms and the mesmeric reek of Victorian Bitter beer. You may even stumble across a fellow in a white beard who will ask for spare change in order to continue the vacuous osmosis of beer, mouth to gut. As my fingers caress the majestic bumps of the bricks forming the bridge, I fall into a hypnotic swoon. My eyes become momentarily transfixed onto the white square painted immaculately against the backdrop of the mahogany-red altar before me. Imprinted onto it, in black, block letters is ‘NORMAL’. Then suddenly, the humility of the masterwork is destroyed by the imbecile who splashes red paint onto it. He has instantly shattered its sanctity.
