I feel like this is very strong sarcasm hahah
No. It unequivocally was not sarcasm. Rape isn't funny, and if people want to use that word in their personal friend groups as a symbol of difficulty, then so be it, but it's not an appropriate thing to say on a public forum where, for all we know, someone might be quite impacted by it.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

How long do you usually take for each section Rod?
Hey Zeal

I can complete the multi-choice section in about 30 mins. And then leave 1 and a half hours for the extended, I get up to about question 4 and then run out of time ... And I usually skip stuff from questions 1-3. I'll have to come up with a plan on exam day ...

Wow I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

Funny how a lot of people were talking about these 'explicit things they do before exams' and all this other stuff I remember skimming through. But anyway, I take responsibility for saying that and I'm sorry. That was not one.

I see you're a moderator. How about deleting what I said? And deleting anyone who quoted it? There, done.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone on this thread, as AmericanBeauty pointed out I didn't actually mean what I said, it was an accident.

Might spend a bit of time away from the 14 thread as well, getting a bit frustrating, not helping with all the methods stress I'm getting as well

If you're talking about the thread where a bunch of people were talking about masturbating before the English exam - yeah, that was locked the day after, and yeah, it stayed open so people could have some harmless, albeit stupid fun to take their mind off the exam. (Rape isn't explicit tho it's abusive)

I wasn't having a go at you mate - if I were I would've given you a warning or a minor ban - I was just flagging to everyone that that type of speak isn't welcome on AN. I know it's a normal thing to say, so again, not saying you're horrible - but just not on these forums.

not sure if my advice will help for methods, but i've found that it works really well in terms of time management.
what I like to do during reading time is go straight to section 2 and read every question EXTREMELY thoroughly, and think about what I have to do in terms of working out, CAS, copying syntax, etc. If you're 100% confident with the questions from section 2, then have a quick read over section 1 but dedicate most of your time to section 2 ensuring that you know how to answer questions with confidence.

As soon as writing starts, section 2 will be fresh in your mind, and you can get into the bulk of the marks, where a lot of people will struggle. Once you've completed the questions you're extremely confident with, go to section 1 and manage time wisely from there.

I've found that it works a lot better than reading through MC during reading time or doing MC first; I mean if you think about it, there's not a lot to read for MC and understanding most of the questions requires little effort!

Try a prac exam with this set up and let me know how it goes  :D

To any one doing methods, do you guys think it's wiser to start on section 2 of exam 2, that way, if you run out of time, you can randomly circle MC and hope for the best. This is also for a student struggling badly with methods.

Ooooh!! I really like this approach!

How I'd do it is probably spend the bulk of reading time (actually, ALL of it) reading through the section 2 questions, maybe a quick flick through MC. Then, I'll do all the ER questions I'm confident with, leave out the ones I'm not so confident with, go back & finish MC, and use the remaining time to finish off those tricky ER questions.

What does everything think with this? ^^ I mean it varies from person to person but I'm really interested in seeing how people are approaching reading time for Methods exam 2.

For exam 1, I'm literally going to go through every question and determine methodically how I'd approach each question, and once reading time starts, I'll get stuck straight into it. I generally finish exam 1 in order, unlike exam 2 where I plan to do ER --> MC --> ER.

Like this, it's worked for me. Not for methods [since I haven't done any exam 2..] but for other subjects. Don't bother wasting your reading time with multichoice questions, focus on extended/short answer questions. At least that way, if time runs out you can go back and guess the multichoice but you won't be able to guess short answer !

I just want to gain as many marks as possible from the ER questions as possible out of the 58 available, and then do MC (where as you said if worst comes to worst I can guess some). I'd rather guess SOME MC than have to guess a LOT of ER.

valid logic but i usually feel alot more comfortable in exams if i start solving multi choice in my head through reading time, and by the end of the 15 minutes reading time you can often finish the whole thing, then when writing time starts spend like 2-3 minutes filling out the answers and confirming there werent any tricks in the question. then its basically a full exam of ER and short answer
