I read somewhere on the forums that a girl with 99.xx (something) didn't get the Access Melbourne Scholarship

They take into account your categories of disadvantage etc. so it's hard to judge by a 'competitive ATAR'

Omg. Local (pretty big) newspaper is coming to talk to me tomorrow and put me in the paper because I've done so well despite everything. Most nervous about the photographer coming. Hate my photo taken lol.

You absolutely deserve it with what you've been through :D I hate getting my photo taken too, but the photos in newspapers always look amazing so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Good luck!

And congratulations to EVERYBODY on their results, whether or not you achieved what you wished :)

Now that I have my ATAR I truly understand what people mean by it's only a number. I was emotional for about half an hour, but now I don't quite know how to feel. It seemed a lot more significant surviving exams, although the ATAR is ultimately what will affect my future. Bizarre feeling :/

You deserve it. Honestly for what you've gone through this period, you've performed exceptionally. Well done, and you've definitely made everyone proud!!

Yup, seconded! I couldn't imagine having to go through VCE with circumstances like yours! :)

Oh, and well done to you too, Yacoubb and ras :P

That's really awesome Bluegirl! Such a good opportunity and experience for you.

Congratulations to everyone in the Class of 2014 for your results! It's been great sharing the Year 12 experience with you guys and as a vic mod I really thank you all for your contributions to the forum. It helps to ensure that ATARNotes is one of the best communities around. We can now finally and completely remove/disconnect ourselves from the pressures of VCE as there's nothing left for us and we can now look forward to what's ahead. :D

For this exact reason, I've decided to delete my account. This community has been so supportive of me and I like to think I have also been helpful/supportive to other people too. But now that VCE is over, I feel that personally for me, there is no need to have an account anymore.

So it's been great to get through VCE with you all, and I wish you the very best in whatever this very exciting stage of our lives throws at you  :)
