thanks it does so,
so for hypertension you would say,

Heart and Kidneys have to work harder and blood flow may be restricted.
Contributing factor to many conditions such as CVD, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure.

yep that's your link health
just to take it to health status you could say "leading to higher mortality rates from these conditions"
VCE 2012:

Chemistry (33),
Methods (34),
Biology (35),
English (36),
Health and Human Development (48)

key concepts and achieving health and human development

ohh yeah I know the one
I used Key Concepts in VCE Health and Human Development Units 3 and 4 by Andrew Beaumont.
Amazing book.
It's very easy to understand and has a lot of diagrams and questions.
Have a look at it sometime if you want :)

Hey all :)
This is in reference to the second and third dotpoints from aos1, which are (respectively):
-"different measures of health status of Australians, including the meaning of burden of disease, health adjusted life expectancy and DALYs, life expectancy, under-five mortality rate, mortality, morbidity, incidence, prevalence"
- "health status of Australians compared with other developed countries, including Sweden, United States of America, United Kingdom and Japan"

For dp2, Do we need to remember trends and stats? In the key concepts book there's usually a bunch of these after the definition of each measurement.  I know for sure we need to know the definitions of the measurements of health status and all, are the stats and all irrelevant or should we actually memorise them?

And for dp3, the explanation in the key concepts book is basically just a bunch of graphs and stats and stuff. Do we need to remember all of that?

Basically, WHAT EXACTLY DO WE NEEDA KNOW FOR EACH DOTPOINT??

Thanks :)

Mainly the info that you need to know is in the questions
So I suggest you do these
And I'm pretty sure that you need to just know how to identify trends and suggest reasons not memorise the different types :)

I think its a good idea to have a general idea of some trends and reasons why they are taking place.

It's good to have a general understanding like what fushandchups said - e.g. "Japan is somewhat higher than Australia in terms of LE and HALE but Australia is above most of the other countries" but you don't need to memorise specific statistics or figures at all! :) That would be impossible! :P In terms of that dot point, VCAA will always give data in the form of a table or something within the exam itself and you'd use that to identify and explain trends and make comparisons between the countries :) :)

Explain the relationship between insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes?

this q is more for ur understanding than the course

insulin resistance means the body does not react to insulin as it should (insulin produced is ineffective or simply not enough). this leads to high/irregular blood glucose levels over and type 2 diabetes

what is a good definition  of absolute poverty?

Absolute Poverty is like a state of extreme impoverishment where a person's income is insufficient to allow them to achieve even basic needs and a decent standard of living. It is also known as 'Extreme Poverty' (eradicating 'extreme poverty' forms the basis of  Millennium Development Goal 1 which you'll learn about in Unit 4, Area of Study 1 :) )

GENERALLY, on the world scale, Absolute or Extreme Poverty is the circumstance of having to live on less than US$1 a day
