Jaydee I'd take option 2. Also, you don't have to go to Micro tutes, it's pretty pointless they just read off slides for that.

What will drain you is having a tute at 4.15pm on a Tuesday. It's not a time of day where many people concentrate well - almost all of the times I have fallen asleep in class have been during 4.15 lectures.

Those Physics problem classes aren't good anyway. You can do the 5 or so problems you get by printing the sheet off the LMS instead of going in for an hour.

I had the 4.15 tutorial and I always skipped it because I was completely rooted after a straight 6 hour day (barring 15 minute break at 1pm).

Plus some of the physics tutors are pretty terrible teachers. Sem 2 of my first year, my initial tutor was so bad that I actually switched tutes after only 1 session - a torturous hour of him explaining the basics of Coulomb's law at snails pace.

I stopped going after 2 weeks of each tutorial stream after realizing that this isn't doing me any good. The first guy didn't know how to do the product rule in order to get Newton's Second Law to work, and in S2 the guy had almost zero public speaking skills.

I recommend that the best teacher is the book, but thats just my opinion.

What do you guys think of my draft timetable? Excuse the lack of subject detail and locations as most of you have provided...
Any ways to improve it?

emiinaaa, your timetable looks fine but the problem is with the lectures (especially calculus, as I don't know if it is like that for the other subject lectures).
In calculus 1, (from experience) there will be different lecturers in the 9am slot to that of the other slots, and it is likely that they will be at different paces, so I'd recommend (even for the other subjects of it is like calculus, but I'm not sure because I haven't done them) that you choose all of the lectures that occur at the same time, once the real timetable opens up, you will see that the lectures are in streams (those occurring every alternate day at 9am nd those occurring at every other time) each of these time slots has a different lecturer, so it would probably be best to stick to one time slot..

^this is how it was like for me, I'm pretty sure they haven't changed it and it would probably stil be like that. Just wanted to give you a heads up before uni starts!
