ALSO, A TIP:
On the first writing task, make sure to actually read the criteria!!! I'm not joking, seriously. Some years it says clearly DO NOT PRESENT AN ARGUMENT and as such you would be penalised if you do so. But some of one's I've done I've noticed that it doesn't say anything like that, so you would be able to have a contention and raise arguments.

Yeah...though when you are not required to present an argument your writing task sort of gets dry. I mean, is there more that you can do apart from describing what's on the poster? Is it a good idea to put paragraphs?

J/W, say you're talking about the chocolate topic - What kind of things would you talk about in your essay?

Apparently, you have to look for links in the information to show a deeper understanding. For example last year with the diamonds, Austraila exported the most diamonds but an African country (don't know which one), although producing not as many, exported the best quality diamods.

And yeah, how should you structure it anyway??
When I get sad, I stop being sad, and be AWESOME instead. True story.

You structure is how you want to structure it. There isn't a set way to do it, just try and do something impressive for the examiners.

Don't know why people complain about the GAT. I couldn't care, no need to study just turn up and do what you got to do!!

So, just to clarify, would you lose any marks if you don't do any paragraphs?

i know people who did an imaginative for the diamonds one - a boardroom meeting between some diamond company about shareholders/investors

also know someone who has done a newsreport/paper thing

its pretty much just an essay - which you use to bring together as much information in a concise, clear and succinct manner
the examiners are looking for your ability to not be overwhelmed by the absolute crap on the paper - and somehow make sense of it

the other essay is a persausive which is easy - just be realy contentious

Why would you not do paragraphs? They expect you to know how to write an essay, so you have to use paragraphs.

NOOOO DON'T DO ARGUMENTS IN THE INFO PART. you'll get owned if you do. its basically like a report using info supplied and putting it together coherently and correctly. i love the writing section of gat :D
