I've got a question to anyone who has done an exam at 3pm. Any tips on the leadup to 3pm so I can be fully awake, rather than be in that weird mental state where my brain just relaxes in the afternoon?

Veteran of two 3pm exams so far....and a third to come  :-\
I just try to keep my day busy so that I don't have time to relax. E.G. Last Thursday before Economics:
  • Woke up a 7:30, went for a jog/run, came home had breakfast
  • Studied during the morning
  • Break for (a big) lunch around 12:00
  • Get to school around 1:30
  • Study at school to 'get in the zone' for the last hour before the exam

But seriously. Eat a big lunch, and have a few snacks around 2:15-2:30. And don't forget that final Caramello Koala 5 mins before your exam. It works.

2014: Law School

Also a veteran of 3pm exams. I was going to highly discourage the sugar high. My whole class at a lolly or two before the exam and crashed 2/3 through the exam when the insane sugar hit subsided.
If you don't know the answer to a question, chances are it has something to do with changing the surface area to volume ratio or resonance.

Coffee may work better, I feel it's effects take a few hours before plummeting so having one before the exam would surely last the 2 hours

I'd avoid coffee if you drink it with sugar though....

Just for those who wanted it:

Study Score Predictor

WARNING: it's kinda rough, so I've included other sources in there (Mao and Paul) but yeah. We each used different methods for prediction but I've put it all in there with the vcaa data. Just plug in values and let me know if anything goes wrong.

Good luck with your remaining exams and don't stress! The marks will work themselves out in the end :)

I'll make a proper one later when I have more time and post it on the Victorian Technical Score Discussion Board

Slipping back to old habits so soon? :P [in david attenborough voice] "Here we have the rare, ATAR and Study Score addict" :P :P

Am I the only one here who's getting more and more sick of playing the numbers game? I used to really care about getting that 90 atar, but now I'm just using these exams just to see how well I'll perform against everyone else!

I don't think you are meant to put in Scores. Just use the drop-down menu and select the grades, then it should come up. :)
