SAC 2 - Part 1 [AOS2]

Read this before posting anything please ;)

From my last post which had a fair few people visiting, I began to realize a trend that was going on - there were two SAC's that were divided up into the whole of VCE Business Management Unit 3 participants. Not sure if this was an experiment, or this will be the actual grasp of how the SACS will fold out throughout the year, but it's rather interesting.

BEFORE DOING SAC - Practice SACS and tips
If you have any practice SAC's, tips or questions for everyone to help each other with, please post them here. What are you specifying your study on and what do you hope to achieve %-wise.

AFTER SAC - Score
What'd you get? Where'd you go wrong? Tips for those who haven't done it!

Personally, my SAC is on WEDNESDAY! I have no idea what the chapter is about as I've been bludging, but I'm all nightering night ;)

Thought I'd let you know that I personally believe I could be next to a fail.

Throughout the entire SAC, apart from the last few questions, I understood the complete area of study without a problem, remembered definitions, advantages and disadvantages to all management structures, all corporate culture stuff and very little of policy.

For the first question, it said something like 'What management structure would 'Masters' use' and it also had some things displayed like functional, geopgraphical, product and customer. Throughout previous learning, I had a recollection of horizontal specialisation and departmentalisation, thought that it would be best if they used departmentalisation to be able to have advanced people in the displayed 'things.'' This was worth four marks, which I spent a good deal of 10 minutes on, writing past the given lines into the white area, to know that I 95% did it wrong.

Most of the middle part of the SAC was fine to my personal recollection as I didn't ask anyone about it as I was sick to the stomach after leaving it, but let's hope it goes that way.

I forgot the steps in policies, wasn't sure what social and ethical responsibilities were ect. FUCK

For the last two pages, which I believe it was out of 6-7 pages, I didn't have time to do any of this, and completely fucked that up.

The case study was an entire 2 pages long ...

To those reading, how hard is it to turn around a first sac score of 17/20, and say a second sac score of 13/25 into a 40 study score?

Holy crap that sounds like a hard as SAC, we've only just started learning AOS 2 so I'm still clueless on the content.

Well this is part one of two of your AOS 2 so there's chance to make it up. The weighting of each individual SAC is not huge but you definitely want to reduce botching too many of them. Overall, I wouldn't be too worried, but I'd be preparing to really kill that part two to get back up there!

We just had our first lesson for AOS2. We're only having 3 lessons to cover all the content for sac 2A for the sac on March 28th.

Sounds like we have had the same business SACs so far. Yeah I agree the case study was very long, took like 7 minutes to decipher it properly. For the first question I just said functional, I don't it mattered so much which one you picked more your evidence to back it up. Bad Luck though mate, but don't worry just work hard, do lots of practice and who knows you might not even drop another mark the whole year :)

I thought masters should implement a product based structure, as they have a very wide variety of them ... is this correct

Yeah could be right, like I said before I think it depended more on your ability to back up your answer with evidence :)

Mines on Wednesday (or Thursday). Didn't receive a breakdown of marks sheet although we were provided huge hints.

My SAC was today on Masters - SAC 2A. It was a HUGE case study which was the length of two entire pages.
I chose product-based structure because of their vast range of products sold (which were mentioned in the case study).

Also.. did you guys have a question something like "Identify the pressure for diversity in the workplace".
I was so lost. I was so confused with this. I think it was the "equal employment opportunity" policy which would have been influenced by legal forces from the macro environment? I was confused about "organisational environments" because the case study had said it was created by management and code of conduct or something... however I would have thought it was a legal force..

Also, I couldn't find an example for a procedure in the case study! I was really disappointed.. and I just wrote down some jippo answer and I'll probably drop a mark for that question..

Besides that I did pretty good. I'm expecting 16-17/20 tbh.
