I found it pretty good. The enzyme kinetics stuff wasn't great, but I think most likely got half those marks which is good.
And the true/false DNA binding stuff was a little tricky!!

Agree with both of those statements. The best part was probably fats/ carbohydrates and metabolism for me.

All that hydropathy plot practice hahaha.
Hey guys I got so confused where it was like 'indicate your option in the table provided' WHAT DID IT MEAN...
I feel like I did something wrong?

Wait....what table?!...hahaha :/

Also, with the hydropathy plot:

I didn't need to start off my hydrophillic region at a hydropathy index of 0 did I? I started the graph at like -2? Surely that is okay, as long as it is in the hydrophillic region?

And did you guys get loads of false answers for the 1st DNA binding true/false question?
I just got a lot more false than true, which was kind of weird!!

Mavis I feel so sorry for you, if I was you, I probs would have had an absolute mental breakdown!!

I started it in the hydrophilic region too. I think I started it at -3 but I don't think it would matter because doesn't hydropathy index actually have some sort of calculation involved?

Yeah it doesn't matter where you started it I think!
Okay so I'm not the only one completely confused about write the number corresponding to your option...must have been some kind of template typo.
I seriously can't remember what the questions were argh!  I know I got quite a few false...but probably quite a few 'true' hahaha.

Jinny don't be scared!! I am not the smartest person here, and I thought I would have gotten about an H2A for this subject.
It is not that bad to be honest. I hated it for most of the semester, but seriously, it is not that hard, as long as you put in the work.

You've pretty much got all that I would have written. Although I enjoyed Irene's sections the most but agree with what you said re: the exam questions. It was really helpful how Graham told us what was examinable and what wasn't. Did not enjoy all the rote learning of amino acids, glycolysis etc. and also found it a bit dry during the semester for this reason.

I'm not going to contribute to the comments on difficulty based on the fact that a: I am a third year student and b: I had already done a small selection of things overseas in my Genetics class (namely histones and packaging, lac operon and regulation stuff, genes and genome content, detailed DNA replication).  That said, there was still a great deal of stuff I didn't know and I felt that it was not difficult to get a handle on for the most part - just a fair amount of memorisation!

I think you'll be fine :)  I have a lotttt of summaries and notes on my computer Jinny so if you're ever struggling just let me know and I can send them through!
