So if we make a mistake while posting, we make another post and not be able to delete the wrong one?
I was going to add that in but thought it was insignificant.
What I wanted to say was: This restriction may also encourage people to proof-read their posts, increasing the quality of posts.
And yes, I guess so. Remember there's no restriction to posting. You just can't delete and/or edit your posts if you have (say) less than 100 posts.

But you don't need to worry about anything. You have 536 posts so edit/delete away :P

I agree with thread deletion, but not post modification. The main issue here was people getting rid of others' work. Modifying their own posts doesn't really screw anyone over, and in the case where there's significantly anti-social behaviour or whatever with post editing, enwiabe is always able to revive their old post for lulfactor (as has been done before).

If you just post the question before you answer it (which most people do anyway), modifying posts shouldn't matter

If the main concern for post modification is people hiding questions. Then why doesn't the person who has answered it simply quote(*cough*TT 3am saturday :P *cough*) the question? Ussually the people who provide answers do that and are trustworthy enough to not do the 2-postcount-noobs a favour in not quoting. But thread deletion, yeah that should be a privelage.

If only I got one karma for every time i edit a post, I would be pwning TT by now.

I agree, privileges should be modified so that members cannot delete threads.

However, having seen how privileges are set up on VN (using a loophole that allowed me to enable global mods to see/dl attachments), to effect this change, admin need to physically go through EVERY SINGLE BOARD and uncheck the 'delete threads'. And we have something around 200 boards..

That's not it Mao.

I always preview my posts...

Yes, a handful of new members have deleted their own useful threads, that much is true.
However, haven't the sheer majority of the VN community (myself included) proven that we can be trusted to manage our own threads?
Just a bit disappointing that this should be viewed as the best option...
