Poll

How did the UMAT 2013 go in general? (modesty aside)

Pretty good, I'm pleased with my performance
Alright I guess
Not really sure, could have gone either way
Not too well, not happy with how I went
To be frank, a complete disaster
I didn't sit the UMAT 2013 today but like to respond to polls anyway

Hmmm... I'm scared now, everyone else seems more confident at school, they've discussed answers and I think I've screwed up majorly  :o will have to wait until results, god this is scary.

Just wondering did anybody find section 3 of the actual UMAT so much better than medentrys? Also was it me or was section 2 really weird in comparison to medentrys.

yeah, Section 3 was somewhat easier. Section 2 was relatively equal in difficulty but also was very tough.

They can actually remember the questions AND the answers? Take what they say with a grain of salt and don't think any more of it. You never know how good your result will be in the UMAT!

Very true. Having done the UMAT last year and this year I know what it is like when people say stuff like "it was easy" etc. The UMAT is something that is unpredictable. I know people who thought they destroyed it, but on the contrary got destroyed by it.

Just try reshift your focus back onto VCE studies.

Good luck!

The umat was better than i thought, especially the s1 problem solving (they were really straightforward). S3 was doable with some never-seen-before tricks here and there and i ended up guessing 3. I probably got destroyed in s2 as i wasn't sure half the time. Overall, i am really happy

Question, with the UMAT to ATAR ratio, what is the likelihood of getting into MBBS Monash with a good UMAT let's say 95th percentile, and an ATAR of 97? Like where exactly does one become even more important than the other?  :)

I have 2 friends who got int with that with Bonded spots. They were both debaters and I'd assume they'd have strong interviews to go along with it.

As for the "where exactly", too hard to say and too early to say.

I think you want your UMAT to be > 94th percentile and ATAR over 99 to be somewhat confident of a CSP offer - I heard the median ATAR for MBBS Monash is something like 99.30 or higher, if I recall correctly.

I have a friend who got 83rd percentile and 99.85 who got a bonded offer, I think he did have a pretty strong interview. I also know someone who got 99th percentile and maybe around 96-97 for their ATAR, and was offered a bonded spot (not sure how their interview went - I think they would've been good at the interview though).
