Party preferences aside, who do you guys think will actually win the election?

Objectively, I reckon LNP will win; I think the general population are either disillusioned with an ALP government (or have been largely convinced as such by the LNP's negative 'campaigning' over the past couple of years) and I don't believe that the Greens have a significant enough foothold amongst the voting population to be independently successful.

Thoughts?

It's a stupid quiz. Apparently I side with the Greens on foreign issues - probably the one place where I am very far removed from them. Zero actual questions to do with political philosophy, all about some cherry-picked current issues.

If you are interested, though

That's probs because most people vote based on current issues eg how to get the most money off the government this term.
Is it because you voted 'no' for live animal exports and 'no' for foreign land sales re: foreign issues though?  Because I feel like a lot of the issues were foreign issues!  And some of them were weird foreign issues like I didn't bother moving any of the bars on individual questions around but if I went back and did it again I would probs decrease the importance of some answers over others.  Like eg I don't think my position on land sales to foreigners is really equivalent to how much I care about economic issues or asylum seeker policies or poor little aminals in terrible conditions when they are exported alive on yucky boats ;__;
But I just got lazy when I was filling out the quiz.

For me, the Green's position towards Israel/Palestine is a major dealbreaker, re: Marrickville and BDS a while back. Not sure if that's under the umbrella of 'foreign issues' that Polonium was talking about, but it's certainly a part of mine

Well, the Greens' official position towards Israel/Palestine is one which is quite similar to mine (the only main objectionable thing there being the first point of the 2010 addendum, which I actually just noticed now. Not too happy about that.)

For me, it's more things like being against the War on Terrorism ("To reduce the threat of terrorism, the social and economic injustices which contribute to terrorist actions should be addressed" is simply a ridiculous policy position), an immediate withdrawal from Afghanistan, wanting to back away from our relations with the US (don't think they've announced they'd break away from ANZUS, but I doubt they haven't been thinking about it), et cetera.

As for BDS, it's not their official position. There are always going to be crazy factions inside a party. Both the ALP (certain parts of the Socialist Left) and the LNP (the economic right faction which is simply at Republican levels, as well as the Christian one) have those as well.

That's probs because most people vote based on current issues eg how to get the most money off the government this term.
