Our school has been running an accelerated learning program for the past few years (SEALP). You basically do the important stuff of year 7 quickly, then start on the year 8 things. Somethings are still covered as normal in the year level. So by the end of year nine, you have done year 10 maths, and equivalent to year 10 English and science. This allows the students in the class to do more year 11 subjects in year 10, and not let them get bored in in junior school.
Some students do year 11 subjects without doing yr 10 anyway, especially easier ones such as I.T and P.E. Our school does not offer GMA or English Language anymore, though it used to. I did yr 11 English language in yr 10 but they stopped running language the year after. I really hate that because I currently really dislike regular English but loved English Language back then. Many students from the accelerated learning program do yr 11 methods in yr 10. Then in year 12 they do specialist. This year, all but one of the whole SIX students doing specialist did 3/4 methods last year. Next year there will be about 10 doing specialist and and 8 are doing methods this year.
