True I just used "the writer".. Stick, I too felt that I was just summarising a bit as there was so much. FOUR pages I did. Quality > Quantity obviously, but that is double the amount that I usually do though. I don't want to know the tone/audience because I'm pretty sure I got them both wrong.. even my tone switch probably.

Very happy with the article and my LA overall, so many appeals, although I wish we knew the writer's name.

Lingered on the visuals a bit too long I feel and I think I concluded with a pretty absurd statement about the 'convenience food'.

Difficulty was pretty good, I wish I had discussed the long view of the article perhaps a bit more and the connotations? I used 'hidden' and 'price' but I don't know how well they came across, (last minute thing I just remembered before it was too late)

My vocabulary didn't seem complex enough either, how did you guys refer to "the writer"?

I literally used the phrase "the writer" over 50 times in my essay as we couldn't assume he/she or use their name...

Fuck
"The writer", "The author"

...I hate it when there's no name, it becomes  such a mouthful to address them.

Exactly my thoughts.

Same here!
Too much to analyse and they weren't simple techniques they were more complex and required more detail and I was not able to get it done in the timeframe.

I just wrote "the writer", "the leader", "the use of".

But you are allowed to pick a gender as long as you are consistent when referring to it. :)

I started to address the writer as 'he' and 'his'. For some reason I always thought this was accepted by halfway through the exam I realized this might not be allowed. Someone help?

I used the author but sometimes I switched to 'the Group'. I thought it was my best language analysis I've done all year. I'm so proud of myself :D

Just above the background information, it says "How does the writer use written and visual language to attempt to persuade readers to share his point of view?"

So you are correct.

I don't think my LA was amazing. I slipped up in the middle somewhere.

I think I avoided summarising the article today compared to the trial we did at school.

I really liked section 3, it felt like it was a treasure trove of persuasive techniques. Not the usual ones like alliteration, rhetoric rubbish but more like on ones you can't really name...

Went crazy on it... & did seven pages (??) all the way til "the last page"

Overall, I liked this section best :)

I wanted to analyse a good ol' rhetorical question. Shame there wasn't one in there. I was so eager when turning to the LA in reading time and saw no rhetorical, WTF! xD

I think I wrote an above average essay for my standard. My essay was about 4 pages which is a bit longer than I normally write. Other than that, I thought the newsletter was a good choice. It wasn't as cryptic as some of the previous language analysis pieces.
