Nope :)
Monash is just as good as Melbourne. The only difference is that Melbourne Uni is much more older hence only slightly more experienced. Either way, you're going to end up with a great degree from a very reputable university and have a great prospect for employability.

Not really, law is super competitive and there aren't many jobs going on at the moment,  you're gonna need more than just a degree to be a 'great prospect' (extracurriculars, grades, internships etc). Most graduates struggle to get a job in law iirc.

True that.

But then again, if you're not sure of what you want as your end occupation, you could opt for a general degree at UoM first then make another choice after 3 years, for those somewhat clueless at the end of Year 12.

Yupp :)
I think apart from making business, the undergraduate programs broaden your career options as hamo94 mentioned.
If I'm not wrong, you can transfer to another course in many universities :)

Can't that be achieved in either university?
I think the only benefit in terms of employability in an undergraduate degree is that you earn more credit points but I'm not too sure..

It isn't. But it's close enough, and it's in the Go8 which makes it pretty extraordinary in any case.

Melbourne is still better, but Monash is pretty close now.

Melbourne performs better in terms of results worldwide but it seems to me (correct me if I'm wrong) that Monash is a lot pickier with who they admit. Their ATAR clearly-in requirements for certain undergraduate courses (e.g. Biomedicine, Law) are a lot higher than UoM's. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, you can pretty much get a 90, do some low-requirement Bachelor and go straight to JD.
2014 - Chinese SL [43+ pls]

2015 - English | Literature | Legal Studies | Mathematical Methods (CAS) | Specialist Mathematics

Atar requirements are based on demand for the course, not their standards.

No way. All UoM's atar requirements are higher than monash's for the undergrad degrees UoM actually does. The only reason monash has high atar's for undergrad law is that UoM doesn't even offer under grad law.

And to get into JD you need written statement, LSAT and a >80 GPA in uni for a CPS (usually) (very hard to get into the JD, probably easier to get a >98 ATAR even.

Also clearly in's have nothing to do with pickiness but everything to do with demand/supply for a course (except in the case of artificial minimum attar's uni's put in place).
Graduated with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) / Bachelor of Arts from Monash University in June 2020.

Completing Practical Legal Training (Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice)

Offering 2021 Tutoring in VCE Legal Studies (Awarded as Bialik College's top Legal Studies Student in 2014).

Offered via Zoom or in person across Melbourne.  Message me to discuss. Very limited places available.

Hey, just wondering, why are you aspiring to obtain two law degrees when you can practice law with just an LLB (from Monash)?

Wish I had seen this before. Sorry!!
Well, as you may know already, the Melbourne JD is of a higher ranking than the Monash LLB. LLB is still ranked highly, but to be competitive and knowledgeable at this point, I feel it may be necessary to study both in order to have a competitive edge w/ employers.

In summary, I want people to pay me money at the end of it. This seems like the most impressive way to do so :P

EDIT: Keep in mind that I'm only speculating my future options, I know I want to study at Monash but I honestly don't know what postgrad degree I want to do. Possibly a Masters of Law, I'm not sure yet. I obviously haven't looked that far into it.

I don't think having two law degrees which are essentially the same thing puts you in a more competitive position. You'd be better off getting good grades in your degree, having good cocurriculars, interning at law firms etc.

I genuinely have no idea :S
I prefer not to think about it though, it kind of sets me up in one straight path which is not the best option in VCE. For example, at one point I remember I wanted to be an Engineer last year, so I chose VCE Physics and put so much effort into it neglecting all my other subjects. Sure, I did really well that year (in Physics) but all my grades for other subjects dropped dramatically. At the end of the day I realised that pi was correct! The subject was boring (for the lack of a worse word) and I had wasted my time : (
Well, that's just me though. No hate to VCE Physics or anything, it definitely taught me something ,but hopefully you get my point about being a 'subject stereotype' .

Cheating, I'm pretty lost, I want to be a lawyer, but then the number of success rates from graduates this year is a complete shocker (what, 10% of graduates find a job?).

So I guess i'll go to UoM for a commerce undergrad, have a look at the scenery then decide (imo why UoM is better than Monash).
