How are all of you finding your holidays so far? :)

Doesn't really feel like holidays for some reason, not too sure why :P. Studying, practice exams, crying, waiting for my parents to slay me on the faithful day :P :-\. Argh, there's no food in the house.

Yeah, preparing myself for Armageddon. Going to all-nighter so that, if I get a poor score, I can just crash down on my bed and pass out XD

Yup, because I don’t have a life. Even my teachers as me whether I have a life lol :P. Boredom makes us do the weirdest things sometimes, so I did the Language Analysis sections of the past English exams, Spesh practice exams, Economics extended response essays and wrote notes from the first two chapters of Chemistry textbook.

I did Revs 3/4 this year. Bare minimum for my parents is a 40, though they would like me to get 45-47. Personally hoping against hope for a 42, though preparing myself for sub 30s lol. When I was studying during SWOTVAC they asked me ‘do you think you can get a 50 for Revs?’

I'm trying to write a resume cos I want another job :'(

already? :o

BTW was subjects are you doing next year?

Yeah, preparing myself for Armageddon. Going to all-nighter so that, if I get a poor score, I can just crash down on my bed and pass out XD

Sounds like a great plan XD

You mean me right? Since you quoted my post :P
I don't wanna mention cos it will be so obvious to stalkers (people from my school cos I know they use this site) who I am! ;) (probably the only person in the state who does this combination of subjects)

appleandbee you're Asian right? I think you mentioned it somewhere.
But even if you aren't, I feel you with  my parents.
They are like "surely you must get at least 35 in your subjects, otherwise that is just to unacceptable??" (sorry idk what the word is in English lol) but they aren't expecting high 40's which is good.
I think especially with my dad, even if I were to get an above-40 score for methods (which I won't), he still would never be satisfied and keeps going on blah blah.

I wish I could be bored like you and start studying :(
sigh

Fair enough I understand, we are all semi/really careful about the information we share online. As long as you are doing subjects you enjoy/interested in and hopefully makes you kind of motivated to study for it  :P that's good.

Spot on, I'm asian haha  :). I feel you with my parents, even though they don't 'expect' 50 or high forties (they would like but they don't expect), they don't think it could me much worse than a 40 lol. I would be over the moon with a 42 (expecting lower), because it's probably my sixth subject.

A few misconceptions by my parents about VCE: (not exaggerating here)
-To get a 99.95 you need six RAW 50s. (they legits thought that)
-To get a 50 study score, you need 100% in the exam and similar grades in school assessments.
-You can't get a really good ATAR if you didn't do well in ALL your subjects
-They also didn't know scaling existed lol

Haha, I would mind either, but Monash seems more professional in a sense... I dont know lol :P

I don't even know which uni I want to go to yet  :P

I know sharing my subjects wouldn't reveal too much personal info but like if I was doing Asian 5 or something common I wouldn't mind sharing lol :P

yes omg
parents don't understand how study scores are normally distributed (lol methods) and they think that getting a 40 is basically 80% which is a crap score which is not
and asian parents particularly think you'll get good atars with spesh and stuff (which I don't do haha) and yah :/

omg do they not know about scaling? :O
my mum's like "oh why don't you do this subject" and I told her how it scales down, and then she's like "oh nvm don't do that then" HAHA but I'm still doing subjects that scale down anyway :P #oops

BAHAHAHAHAHA seems legit </3

Well technically if you didn't do a scaling subject, 6 raw 50s wouldn't net you a 99.95 :( the sad reality of VCE.
Let's not even get started on the Asian comparisons that parents make :P hahahaha
