It's a text response on All About Eve in a month or so.

Yeah funny story about the oral. Don't want to toot my own horn here, but according to teachers our school is very very good at orals. So when everyone did it and got high marks last year, the years 12's slacked off and didn't really put much effort into English so they got pretty average marks for other SACs.

Anyway, I wish I'd have done the Oral first. Nice and easy to get good marks.
Well I guess that was good for the people who persevered with English in the end (since scoring high for school assessments don't really mean much because of rankings etc.) but if that happens this year then you'll be all prepared to continue onwards with English!

Our first SAC for English is in Week 8 but it's an Oral on our text response novel (which is kind of weird) with our first actual essay piece being in Term 2 :S

How much homework have you guys been doing after school? I was hoping for more today but ended up getting two methods exercises completed and started to read over and do questions from checkpoints for energy for physics. Was hoping to get a bit more done. Probably only did 2 1/2 hours tonight. What has everyone else being doing (hour/quantity wise) for homework?
Today I only worked on English going over and re-annotating my notes which I feel needs a solid day to work on because it's one of those subjects if you leave for later on then you'll be screwed for (and chopping it up into smaller bits for English doesn't work for me). I generally do about 2-3 hours of work each night and then spend whatever time I have left to prepare for my lessons tomorrow (that is do some pre-reading of slides/note taking etc.) which takes another 0.5-1 hour :)

I have my oral in less than 2 weeks but I can't even remember it. Do you guys have tips on how to memorise a speech? I practice everyday at least once, I can remember bits and pieces but not all.

Memorise a paragraph and recite it. Move on to the next and recite it, then recite the previous paragraph again. Rinse and repeat and take breaks in between.

It takes me around 5 to 6 hours a night to do my homework. I get lots and I'm pretty slow at doing it.
