Yeah that's very true.
Planning on doing the comm/eng at Monash (mAjoring in finance and civil respectively). So maybe I cold try for a job in the finance industry as an analyst or something, I heard they like engineering kiddies.
Although I'm only year 10, I've researched and talked about engineering with people in the industry for quite awhile - completing my work experience at an engineering firm right now as well.
I've found that it's true engineering is saturated currently, but most jobs are as well. I don't think there will be any significant differences to occur in the next 5 years regarding the availability of engineering jobs. Luckily, I'm interested in civil engineering!
It's a lot easier to switch from engineering to finance but not so much the other way around.
Also, take all my advice with a grain of salt since I'm only Year 10 so I might've taken things out of context. It's probably better to research this yourself.
I should really just focus on my last final years of high school instead of job prospects
