Guess what?

History...IS NOW HISTORY.

Just sayin'. ;)
Once, in a history exam, I didn't like the answer I'd given so I erased it and added a new one.

I guess you could say I...rewrote history.

I did American for Section A and French for Section B.
I thought overall it was ok, but the first question for American threw me a bit, and with the essay topic for French, it was hard to know which way to go....
Other than that, I thought it was pretty good...

I found the French Essay topic really weirdly broad. Definitely not what I was expecting...

Republicanism- I wrote mainly about popular sovereignty, with Adams circular letter, I talked about no taxation without representation, talked about nationalism and Thomas Paine as he said the colonist had " come of age"and needed to break away from Great Britain. Whilst also talking about the Declaration of Independence and how freedom and liberty are key principles in republicanism what do you guys think please ?

Could the attempts by the Third Estate to reform the system of voting in the Estates-General be described as a failed attempt to reform? Or do you guys think that this question for France (Section A question 1) was referring only to failed attempts by the government to reform?

I spoke about it briefly, like a fleeting reference. I mainly focused on the Assembly of Notables, Estates General, Dismissals of Necker, Great Fear and all that.

I think France was actually easier than Russia this year, first time ever.

Both my document analyses were absolutely awful. Wasn't expecting the Thermidorian Reaction for France so I overlooked it whilst I was revising. Big shocker when I opened up the exam booklet.

Yeah I did Russia Section A; I had done a few practices on April Theses so I was pretty prepared for it, my class went over it quite a bit. I think I talked about the policies it established for the Bolsheviks then just talked about chronological events it led to or something... But I was kind of hoping for them to ask about specific people...the peasants question threw me for a while. We should've expected it though since last year was 'industrial workers' so they give us the other side of the coin this year  :P

Should we begin discussion on the 'suggested' answers to the questions, now that Capt'n got the exam up? Would be interesting to see what everyone wrote.
I actually have no idea what I'm saying or talking about.

I'm in for it.

I did France Section A

Question one: Failed attempts at reform, I pretty much spoke about the Assembly of Notables, Estates General, Neckers two dismissals, failure for the King to adequately recognise the cahiers- (it's what they did not say that was pivotal in rev), and then I spoke about Great Fear briefly.

Question two: Attack on Bastille, pretty much stated the obvious. The revolts, Great Fear, violence, despotism, emblematising of the Bastille, rise of san culottes yadda yadda. It was straight forward.

AOS2 Hoever was a bit tricky. I just mentioned the obvious for the first questions and Robespierre's downfall, then on the historiography question I spoke about Marat, Lafayette, Robespierre and how they were treating the people poorly which ultimately led to their downfall and thus the terror made the people see the truth. I think I scored badly on it though, wasn't cohesive in my opinion. I'm hoping everyone else found it hard, better marks.

Russia Section B
Provisional Government question was a pain, but easy enough. June Offensive, Kerensky, Kornilov all the rest. The evaluate question was inaccurate because the source presented an inadequate historical view on that point in time.

And then the essay was just going through the events of 1917-1924, war communism didn't improve lives of russian people, etc, etc.

How did you all find those questions?
