Yes unless you've done the PEAK exam 2014 which was a pain in the ass and asked for two functions.

___
I have question!!
Are we expected to know and explain the different types of arthritis? like rheumatoid and others?
Think so, you just needa to know a basic description of each. Thank god for my fondness towards watching medical tv shows.

Basic would be : a type of skin cancer when the body has been overexposed to the sun that sunburnt has occurred.

I've been basing my answers for these type of questions from the examiner report for the 2012 exam, for question 6
(describe one program that ausaid (dfat) could implement in indonesia to reduce poverty) (3 marks)

They recommended to include;
- who is running the program
- where the program is being run
- what the goals are
- how the program is being run
- expected outcomes

this is talking about DFAT but i think it would be a similar way of describing a program for immunisation, hiv/aids etc
Thanks! That really clarifies it (:

I'm not sure but let's collate a short summary

Rheumatoid: autoimmune, immune system attacks tissues lining joints -> inflammation, pain, swelling
Osteoarthritis: cartilage being worn down, bone rubs on bone --> pain, limited mobility
Osteoporosis: Bone density deteriorates --> weak and prone to fracture
Juvenile Arthritis: any form of arthritis in under 16s

So a precise definition of melanoma would be : type of skin cancer that developed from melanocytes that are produced when the body has been overexposed to the sun that sunburnt has occurred.

Basic would be : a type of skin cancer when the body has been overexposed to the sun that sunburnt has occurred.

Hmm what about non melanoma vs melanoma skin cancer?

obesity: umm excessive accumulation of fat at an amount that is detrimental to health?

There are two types of questions.
Both you must talk about  health, human development and sustainability.
1. How does __________ show the interrelationships of SHD
2. How does __________ promote SHD

For the first scenario you must include links to show the 'interrelationships' .
So you'd include health then link how your example of health associates with human development.
For example. Through increasing physical health, individuals are more likely to go to school thus have enhanced capabilities and choices in employment prospects.

The second scenario, you must be specific and keep the original stimulus close at all times.
So how education influences health, sustainability and human development with no interrelationships between them.

So basically the first scenario, you can talk about education and somehow leap to food security as long as the links makes sense. For the second scenario, your only limited to the original stimulus which in ^ case was education

^^ The State government is responsible for ambulance services.

I'm not exactly sure Lucas how those two questions differ. I don't think examiners would take marks off if someone inter-related sustainable human development and the question didn't ask for it specifically.

For the influence of healthcare and global marketing etc, can we just go off common sense (ish) to answer them, like do we need to really memorise it

I'm not exactly sure Lucas how those two questions differ. I don't think examiners would take marks off if someone inter-related sustainable human development and the question didn't ask for it specifically.

This is what my teacher said

In short, there are similarities and differences in these questions, this is what we have discussed in terms of the marks allocated to each question and how they are different:

Sustainable Human Development:
- Health (2 marks)
- Human Development (2 marks)
- Sustainability (2 marks)
They do not need to interrelate, but they all should link to the specific program/factor.

Interrelationship between Health, Human Development and Sustainability:
- Health (2 marks)
- Human Development (2 marks)
- Sustainability (2 marks)
* If the concepts do not interrelate the student will lose up to two marks (one per interrelationship/link missing)

The difference here is that your discussion on the impact on H, HD and S must interrelate (e.g. the impact on Health that you discuss must then flow onto how Human Development would then be impacted etc...).

Ensure that when answering these questions based on a particular program, you link back to the program for H, HD and S (same rule applies for both questions).

Remember the above as the simple rules to abide by when answering the question. Don't over think it as there are many different things you can write to get the answer correct. Just stick to these rules. At the end of the day, we do not know what questions you will be asked in the exam, but you are as prepared as you can be in terms of knowing what you need to do if and when a question such as the above arises.

For the influence of healthcare and global marketing etc, can we just go off common sense (ish) to answer them, like do we need to really memorise it
I think that's pretty straight forward. I'd spend more time memorising programs

eva with an incoming 50 raw haha

Yeah that's what I think is right but I partly agree with aura because on the last year exams, there was a question with regards to how does _________ promote shd. In the good responses sections one had interrelationships and the other one had none. But I'd still be safe and follow the layout ^ up there.

Been a guest following along for a while and decided to join in!
Just a quick question, how do you go about justifying why a program has been implemented?
We didn't do any of these types of questions in class but I have come across a few in practice sacs and past exams.
Thanks :)
