depends on the subject really. My mate got a 40 flat in chemistry about 3 years ago, and he got 1 mark above the A+ cutoff for chem in the mid year, exactly on the cutoff for end of year, and slightly above the A+ cutoff (very slightly) for sacs. It really depends on the subject. Probably a different story for maths subjects though, with the median being a bit higher and all.

Yes, for those without VTAC accounts, your PIN is your birthday (DDMM format).

Example: 9th July - PIN is 0907

Tbh I haven't really been thinking about it much, and I guess I prefer it that way until the results actually come out. Otherwise I'll just be dwelling on real/perceived mistakes which I can't change now, right!

Regardless, it's quite scary yet exciting that from tomorrow there'll only be a week left too results come out!

Good luck all :)

Everytime I see the number 24 I cringe.
2013: 20 + 1 + 3 = 24
Take the last digit of 2013 and multiply it by how many days left until results:
3 * 8 = 24
Take my literature result last year and add 1 year of improvement to it:
23 + 1 = 24
I can just see it happening... I am just waiting for a text message from VCAA with the number 24 on it, and having to tell my parents, siblings and friends how I failed two years in a row; how I can't get into any of the universities I was aiming for.

Being nervous about results is an understatement :(
2012 ATAR - 86.75
2013 ATAR - 88.50

I find I've been going through a cycle... Fear, then excitement, then just the whole 'whatever happens happens'  mentality  ::)

Except for Lit, that's just fear all over, hah!

I cannot relate to this more
If you don't know the answer to a question, chances are it has something to do with changing the surface area to volume ratio or resonance.

Out of curiosity, is it more important to hold rank 1 for sacs or a high sac score?

Rankings matter more than raw scores for SACs.

I don't know whether or not this thread is a good idea....stress feeds on stress.  Please don't stress guys, as long as you know you've put in the effort and performed to the best of your individual abilities given your independent circumstances,  I'm certain you will be very proud of your ATAR s, no matter what the number says. It does not define you, it simply is used as an aid to get you into your course.

End of worried mother lecture.
