Hey guys,   :'(
I'm really devastated don't want to go into much detail about it, I got an atar of 49 :/ anyways i'm not here to complain as I cant change what has happened but want to know what are my options....
my first preference was Monash Psychology (90), my second option is now Deakin Psychological Science (60), I have a very strong SEAS, attended a underrepresented school and plus have disadvantaged financial background, is their still hope for me to get into the course? and...
What pathways can I take to get into Psychology at uni? (through tafe)

Thanks everyone hope you all are happy with your results :)

There is a SEAS calculator from Monash that you can use to estimate how many points you can get (http://monash.edu/seas/).

[2012] English (EAL), Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Specialist Maths
[2013]-[2017] Monash University - Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (Hons.) V

Yuuup, I think you still have a chance to get into Deakin, dont worry. Also try other universities like VU, Latrobe and RMIT, put them into your preferences and see. You always have the option of getting good marks in your first or second year and transferring to Arts at Monash!!

That's great to hear! I haven't heard much about vic uni and would take me more than 2 hours to get there but better than nothing for me :)

Considering the below Clearly In for Deakin, you appear to have a strong chance. And I'd wager that Vic Uni is a guarantee. My friend actually received exactly your ATAR, similar SEAS and received an offer from them for psychology alongside an awesome scholarship. She ended up declining both to study sound production at Collarts, but she is one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. Owned me all throughout Math Methods and Chemistry, and assisted me greatly in understanding its content; I was useless. Then exam time came and she said she just wrote her name down, and then left. She's finally very happy where she is at the moment.

I got an atar of 60.85, strong SEAS (4 categories), is there any chance I'll make it into this monash course?

Year 12 offers through VTAC [?] :104         Total offers through VTAC [?] :144
Round   Clearly-in ATAR [?]        % Offers Below Clearly-in [?]
First                 71.15                                       20
Final                 71.15                                       28.89

Awh, I hope so. It's great that you have an ATAR, because your foot is in the door and you have a lot of mobility. Transferring is far easier than the hype.

My friend received an ATAR of 71 and qualified for 5 SEAS categories. He wasn't selected for a Monash BSc with a Clearly In of ~82. The final Offers Below were ~30%  for that degree, as well. On the basis of that I don't believe there is a strong chance.  :(

Thanks for that. That is so depressing to know haha. Since I want to get into this course really badly, would anyone recommend me placing it as my top #1 preference?

I guess I'll have to lean towards RMIT courses as I read they're more lenient with people who are reliant on SEAS.

Firstly, I'm so sorry :(

Thankfully you've applied for SEAS, and by the looks of it you have an incredibly strong chance of getting into Deakin, don't be too disheartened okay.

You're so kind hearted. Sucks when your dog dies and you have all your exams in a 1 week period. That stress level!

There might be a chance to get in, but i can say it is unlikely as Monash can be abit harsh but make sure you put it as your first preference no matter what because you never know if you get lucky :) but yea other universities such as RMIT and Deakin are more likely to accept you.... Good Luck
