I say if you get like a 72-3% av, you'll get in.

But isn't it competitive to get in?

Yeah but its end of the year, so they will be more places so it kinda like fills the demand. One of my friend's friend who got into UoM BCom with a 74% (usualy the requirement is 75%)

Is that going through the Diploma I mentioned above?

So any word on how hard it is to get 80%+ first year.
Is it something that's really rare to get, or is it something that's can be obtained fairly easily with a lot of hard work.

And just one more thing... I've read a bit more and I'm not sure how this works. Do you need to complete both years to be eligible for the transfer.. or only one? Both years will cost over $30,000 and you've lost a year which ultimately makes it not that appealing..

Trust me, going through BBus --> BCom is much more efficient than DBus(or whatever) --> BCom. Many of my friends got 85%+ in uni (i got 65% but i pratically played sc before exams so its my fault LOLOL, so now i gotta study like a bitch this sem to get like 85-8% av damn hell :( )

so yeah. And I'm pretty sure with the strong statement + 71% av you should get in fine.

Yep, I'm going to put BBus say 2nd or 3rd preference but considering this Diploma to fill up the 3rd or 4th just to ensure I get into my course.

prestigiousness. The subjects are far more advanced/sophisticated in BCom than BBus.

OK so I put Commerce and Business as my 2 first preferences.

I put the Monash College diploma as my 3rd so if worst comes to worst I have security.

I found out that if you complete Year 12 you only need to complete a single year of the 2 year diploma and if you get above the 80% they let you in. So if I do stuff up VCE I can kill myself next year and get that 80%+ and get into a decent university.

Are there any other viable pathways that anyone knows about? This is by the far the best one I've found since you essentially aren't at any disadvantage (other than the loss of ~$8000).

Hey, im not really sure how this works and so glad I found a forum that can talk about it!

My current prefs are:
1.  28571  Commerce/Economics (Monash University, Clayton, F/T, P/T) (Type: CSP)
2.  28061  Commerce (Monash University, Clayton, F/T, P/T) (Type: CSP)
3.  28371  Economics (Monash University, Clayton, F/T, P/T) (Type: CSP)
4.  32821  Economics & Finance (RMIT University, City, F/T) (Type: CSP)
5.  32501  Economics and Finance (RMIT University, City, F/T) (Type: CSP)
6.  27081  Business (Monash University, Caulfield, F/T, P/T) (Type: CSP)
7.  26081  Business and Commerce (Monash University, Berwick, F/T, P/T) (Type: CSP)

I dont think I can get into Monash Clayton with how I went on the exams ><
However I plan to do Business at Monash Caulfield

Does this mean If i get 80%+ I can transfer to my first preference the following year, without losing a year?

Thanks

If you get full year 75% average then you have a high chance of obtaining BCom/BEc :)

basically it becomes a if you can be stuffed game. initially i wanted to transfer out of BBus. I could've easily transferred to BCom at Melbourne mid year. But then i realised that BBus is a good course and well get me just as far. BCom does not = AWESOME.

okay guys, i got owned LOL. i can only get into my 7th preference now.

26081  Business and Commerce (Monash University, Berwick, F/T, P/T) (Type: CSP)

if I do take this prefrence, is it possible to transfer still to my first preference if I score Ds or HDs?

Do you meet the prerequisites for an Economics degree? If so, that should probably go on your preferences too because you'll have to do economics subjects anyway. Also, consider finance and accounting as related fields (it really depends on your interests). Also, it's worth considering other unis as well, such as Deakin and Latrobe.

I recommend aiming for 75%+ as an average if you'd like to transfer. Obviously the higher the better, but at 75%+ you're put roughly in the range of the top 15% of students in your cohort.

Is it possible to transfer from Arts to Commerce? I know its a real long shot but in order to satisfy the math prerequisite is there a math subject etc that could be done along with regular arts subjects?
