Also, for health, what you guys up to? I just finished the health promotion topic.

i'm doing unit four outcome one right now! specifically, the sustainable development goals (: it's pretty interesting, but probably will eventuate in a fairly hectic sac, ugh. i think most schools are just starting unit four about now in health (:

Are any of you guys doing chem? If so, what topic are you up to? My school is doing revision for unit 3 and hasn't started organic yet...I don't know if we'll finish the course in time because unit 4 is massive :/
My school just finished unit 3, but we did the practical investigation already, which is saving time when unit 4 comes, since that's normally unit 4 stuff.

Yeah, we're about to start that stuff. Health sacs are always so hectic haha and content heavy :P

Yeah, same with my school. We did the practical investigation and we're going to have a practice Unit 3 exam so we're basically preparing for that.

We've done a few weeks of organic already but we won't be able to do anymore this term since we have to do the practical investigation SAC for the last couple of weeks. But there's plenty of time to finish Unit 4. Even if your school is slow you can easily forge ahead at the end to get a head start on practice exams.

Realistically, you've been studying for exams all year without even knowing it! ;D

Last year, I only really started dedicated exams study in term 4.
Prior to that, I found that my revision needs were met by class and all that. Plus, I found that I preferred to have covered the whole course before going back over it all - I liked having the full picture of things, it stopped me getting confused about where stuff fitted in, and it also let me prioritise stuff, because there were things that I just didn't need to go over, so I didn't see the point in doing unnecessary study.
That being said, we all learn differently and we all like doing things in different ways - you might find that you prefer doing small amounts of work over a long period of time, or you might prefer to do a large chunk of work/revision in a shorter period. It's just a process of trial and error to sort out what works best for you  :)

We've done our practical already, and getting into organic now, but like theres still half the course to go!! It's crazy hahah but I think this unit seems pretty interesting!

Also super happy because I aced the practical (39/40), so now I'm motivated as to do well in unit 4 :)

Also, for health, what you guys up to? I just finished the health promotion topic.

I remember having a SAC first week of term 3 last year, so I think we had done half of outcome 1 Unit 4 done!
Don't worry, theres much less content in unit 4 because you pretty much apply the same thing over and over to the same topics. Trust me - learn how to do a relationships between health, human development and sustainable development answer early so that it's not such a mammoth task - if you can get it down to just changing your example, then writing the same thing every time you've got an easy 6 marker in the exam.

Anyone doing bio, what are you guys up to?
2016 - HHD (49)
2017 - Bio (41), Chem, Italian, English (43), Methods

Happy to help out with any HHD questions, and remember - there is life after VCE :)

Oh okay and congrats on your amazing score!! :)

Oh okay, I'm liking the new topic more too so its easier to study for.

I did bio last year and around this time we finished the immunity topic. :)

Also, congrats on your absolutely amazing HHD study score!! Thats my study score goal for this year pretty much, around 48-50. If you don't mind me asking, did you lose any marks at all throughout the year for SAC's to get that score?
I'm just feeling a bit paranoid with my marks atm because I lost a few marks already... :(

Thanks! Our sacs added up to 100 for each unit, and I'm pretty sure I got 96 for Unit 3, and 99 for Unit 4 (dropped the stupidest marks haha)
After going through the exam last year, I couldn't really find anything I had messed up, so you obviously have to do really well in the exam to do well also, but my cohort was amazing (like 30+ over 40s) so I don't know if with a lesser cohort, I would have gotten a 50.

Hello everyone!
Just checking in to see how you're all going. It's so close to the end of term (and perhaps some of you have already finished!), and you guys are doing so well. We're all really proud of you! If you're having any troubles, please don't hesitate to come speak to one of us, or talk to some of your friends, or something similar. :)

Take some time over these holidays to recharge your batteries - term 3 is a hard slog, and can potentially be a bit draining! So make sure you take time off study and don't burn yourself out over the holidays.
Perhaps try to get your holiday homework done in the first few days so you can relax and enjoy the rest of your holidays, stress-free (personally, I never did this, but in hindsight I really wish that I did). If you're not ok with totally chilling out, use this time to consolidate your notes and knowledge from terms 1&2, and perhaps make some lists of things you need to go over (or perhaps need your teachers to go over) - using the study design for your subject is a great resource for this!
You might like to do some practice exams (potentially just focusing on unit 3), but make sure you don't do too many - leave some for when it comes closer to the exam period!

Make sure you try to go outside at least once a day these holidays, try to keep up some exercise (even if it's just walking!) and even potentially try some technology-free days! Don't coop yourself up in your bedroom ;)

Once again, well done on reaching the end of term 2! Hope to see some of you at the AN lectures in the coming week or two ;D
