Hello everyone!
Just checking in to see how you're all going. It's so close to the end of term (and perhaps some of you have already finished!), and you guys are doing so well. We're all really proud of you! If you're having any troubles, please don't hesitate to come speak to one of us, or talk to some of your friends, or something similar. :)

Take some time over these holidays to recharge your batteries - term 3 is a hard slog, and can potentially be a bit draining! So make sure you take time off study and don't burn yourself out over the holidays.
Perhaps try to get your holiday homework done in the first few days so you can relax and enjoy the rest of your holidays, stress-free (personally, I never did this, but in hindsight I really wish that I did). If you're not ok with totally chilling out, use this time to consolidate your notes and knowledge from terms 1&2, and perhaps make some lists of things you need to go over (or perhaps need your teachers to go over) - using the study design for your subject is a great resource for this!
You might like to do some practice exams (potentially just focusing on unit 3), but make sure you don't do too many - leave some for when it comes closer to the exam period!

Make sure you try to go outside at least once a day these holidays, try to keep up some exercise (even if it's just walking!) and even potentially try some technology-free days! Don't coop yourself up in your bedroom ;)

Once again, well done on reaching the end of term 2! Hope to see some of you at the AN lectures in the coming week or two ;D

Just the support I need atm :)
2016 - HHD (49)
2017 - Bio (41), Chem, Italian, English (43), Methods

Happy to help out with any HHD questions, and remember - there is life after VCE :)

Hey, how has everyone been doing during the holidays? I haven't been posting on atarnotes for the last few weeks because I've been cramming in UMAT preparation over the holidays .  :( I've probably been neglecting my subjects way too much to get some UMAT preparation in. Today I realised that I still have about 9 SACs left before the exams.  :'( I feel like the rest of the year is going to be really hectic and stressful, but at least my holidays have been relaxing :) and hopefully it reinvigorates me study hard for the rest of the year. Anyway, what have you guys been doing over the holidays and do what do you guys think of being so close to finishing VCE?

I've been making my parents really mad these days by giving up on VCE so that's not really looking that good but I'm also not aiming that high? It's hard to explain to them I guess but yeah holidays have been really relaxing for me so far but time to cram more homework tomorrow  :'( :'(

I've been doing lots of studying, but it still doesn't feel like I've done enough. I can't believe how quickly the year is going by, and there's so many decisions to be made in August. I think I'll do ok in my SACs that are first week back, but I feel like I'm behind on exam prep.

Hey guys! How are we all feeling for the upcoming return of school? I hope you've enjoyed your break and have found time to rest, relax and recharge the batteries as best as possible. Term 3 will be hectic but we all know you guys will smash it and we're behind you every step of the way :D We're always here if you need any help :)

What do you mean by giving up on VCE?
Glad your holidays have been relaxing, don't stay up too late rushing to finish homework, and good luck for the start of term 3!

There's no right amount of study to do :) Sounds like you've probably been smashing it out, which is awesome, but please don't put too much pressure on yourself! If you feel like you've been doing heaps but not achieving a lot, maybe review exactly what you're doing when you're studying, and see if you can change things around a bit to make your study as effective as possible.
I felt the same way about the year going so fast last year! Just enjoy the time you have left in high school and use your final two terms as an opportunity to create as many memories as possible and have some fun :)
Don't stress about all the decisions that have to be made - you realistically have plenty of time to put your VTAC applications in, and with anything else, just take it one decision at a time.
Even if you still have no idea what courses you want to put down, that's fine! So many people have absolutely no idea what they want to do post high school, and that's completely normal. I have friends in uni who still have no idea what they want to do!

And in terms of exam prep - you're doing exam prep without even realising it, just by being at school! I don't think I started proper revision until like, term 4 (potentially the end of term 3) last year, so please don't feel like you have to be smashing out exam revision from the start of term 3 (that being said, some people like to do small amount of revision over a longer period of time, so they start earlier - it's different for everyone).

Glad that your holidays have been relaxing, zhen! Hope that UMAT prep is going well for you. The rest of the year will be pretty hectic, but try not to get caught up in it all - make sure you take time to enjoy your last two terms of school :)

Holidays have been solid. I've also done some UMAT prep but it feels more useful to study for my other subjects as it's impossible to tell how much of a difference it makes to practice for the UMAT.

Finished the methods course last week and spesh course yesterday so I've achieved the majority of my goals for these holidays :). Practice exams are going to be intense though.

It does feel strange that I only have 7 SACs left. There's only really one term left of school, and I know it will go quickly like the rest of the year, but it still feels daunting as exams only get closer.

That's the exact reason I decided not to do UMAT :P

Otherwise I reckon my holidays have been alright so far... have moderately done quite a bit. Luckily I have another week to go, so hoping to do a lot of stuff in the next week :)

I've managed to get through quite a bit these holidays. It's been quite intense, but I'm hoping that this will put me in good stead for term 3 and then exams. I'd say the hardest thing right now is balancing the subjects. I know I should be doing much more for Methods, but am often held back by my writing intensive subjects. At the moment, however, I'm just focused on keeping calm and putting in my best effort  :)

Hang in there! Not long left :)
Please remember that we're always here to help as best as we can.
Maybe you could potentially benefit from a chat to your year 12 coordinator, or a trusted subject teacher, if you're finding things hard at the moment - my coordinator was always happy to have a chat to anyone and give us a pep talk if we needed it :)

You're lucky to have last week off! Did you do anything fun over the break?
I'm sure you did brilliantly with your specialist and physics assessments! ;D
I do hope your presentation goes well, do let us know how you go! :)

tbh I don't' even know where my holidays went haha. Just managed to have a weekend in the snow, and the rest was pretty much studying and meeting family friends. I really wanted to finish off my uni maths content, but didn't even get time to start it (although I did manage to finish off specialist and chemistry :P)
