Apologies for the intrusion - just a few quick words re: Monash (Clayton) libraries for those interested.
Babushka is correct in identifying that there are three main libraries: Matheson, Hargrave-Andrew and the Law Library.
In theory, these are essentially split by faculty. But like, if you're an Arts student, that doesn't mean you can't study in the Hargrave-Andrew Library. If you're a Law student, you can still study in Matheson etc. I personally never studied in the Law Library (the Lawbrary) because I found it a little intimidating, but nobody in Matheson or Hargrave could give less of a shit what you study.
Over time, I tended to drift toward Hargrave (also known as HAL) more and more. My favourite spot there was the basement, which few(er) people seem to know about. When you go in the main doors, take an immediate left (basically along the reception desk) and go down the stairs right in front of you. I found it really quiet - particularly in less busy periods - and good for effective study periods.
Matheson has just been upgraded. Like, completely changed to the point that I don't think I'd even recognise it. Does anybody know if that's still going? And I'd also be interested in what they've done on the ground level of HAL, if anybody wants to check that out for me haha.
In terms of libraries
in general, I'd recommend going to one of those introductory sessions. I don't know if you'll learn anything groundbreaking, but it couldn't hurt. The libraries on campus can be really, really helpful in a number of domains. All of the library staff are really nice, too; if ever you're having trouble with finding something or studying or anything, I reckon they'd be more than happy to help.

P.S. There's also a recreational library upstairs in Campus Centre (near Wholefoods and Monash Abroad) called the John Medley Library, which is sort of neat.
