hehe what do you do if you need a derived gat score
You don't? Like Heidi, I do have a story to tell as well.
I had a pretty bad fever and had no voice falling exactly on GAT day of my Year 11 year (was doing a 3/4, so I was meant to take the GAT). I gave my school a medical certificate and got some stupid response on my results sheet at the end of the year ("did not take for unsatisfactory reasons" or something). Thankfully, I was okay for my actual exam, so I don't know what would have happened to my SS had I actually been sick a second time, but I'm led to believe there'd be some funky math going on in the background involving lots of different factors to get a derived score still.
For all you Year 12 students, please be aware that the GAT may have some significance, so don't discount it. If you happen to fall ill for one or more of your exams, they use the GAT score (with other factors) to decide the derived score. In addition, the GAT is used for some moderation purposes
This is very true. I had a classmate who fell into this category. Let's just say, it wasn't exactly the prettiest picture filled with rainbows and unicorns at the end of the year.
