Melbourne High Year 10

So Guys, last year I got into Suzanne Cory, but this year I really really want to get into mhs in year 10. The only thing I really need help on, is my persuasive essay. I get how the structure works but i clearly don't know how to start the introduction. For example, how should i like write my contention. i don't want to just write, therefore we should ban this or that, something catchy. And pls can someone provide like a full introduction of a random topic.

If he got in last year (ie. Year 8 ) I'd imagine this person would be in Year 9 now.

I'll try and type out some essays if I can find them at home.

Use TEEL
Topic sentence
 what is your main point?
 Evidence
what is your evidence? It reinforces your idea in your topic sentence.
 Explanation
 why is your point important?
 Link
How does it relate to your actual topic?

For the creative essay, is it best to somehow kill off the protagonist or end it with a cliff hanger? I know neither of them is better than a legitimate resolution, but that seems to be impossible to form with a climax preceding it in 15 minutes.

Thanks in advance :)

My answer is probably not that good but I usually start it off being with a memory that I had while I'm tired and then in the end I usually just end it with a half cliff hanger and fell asleep....Not too hard to finish this in 15 minutes I guess

I would always love an interesting cliff hanger BUT if it isn't strong and dramatic, enough to convey the audience to care what is going to happen next, then just stick with a normal resolution that finishes the story well. If this is for selective entry school, I would never kill off the protagonist, coz you never know who is marking ur work. They might not like how you ended the story.
Just keep it basic with beginning, middle and a fancy ending.
if you need anymore help pm as I got into mhs and very knowledgeable in this area of english

I thought results were given on the third week of August? They can't have marked it that quickly?

Suzanne cory reks mhs #controversy

anyway a good place to look for ideas would be for vce english oral presentations, and just look at peoples introductions there, its pretty much a similiar thing to the persuasive essays you need to write
