ahh fair enough, i heard that happens quite a bit. I haven't gotten my statement of marks yet, but from what my teacher told me she entered 48/50 for me for GA2. However on the results, it said I only got an A for GA2, which was weird. Either my teacher forgot or it just scaled down badly.

From what I've heard though something like 47 out of 50 is the a+ sac cutoff each year (which is crazy high IMO). So it may have just scaled down by one or two- otherwise it would be very hard to get that 39 if it scaled any lower :)

Adding on the 'rigging SACs' bit, just make sure you are always actively sucking up. That means doing all homework, giving him/her lots of essays to mark, good class behaviour, punctuality and answering as many in-class questions as possible. Also, establish yourself as a likeable person in general. It all helps. During the year, I even wrote my teacher a letter she had to write for work. Anything you possibly can do, do.

In our class, the teacher publicly announced that she would be "adjusting" SACs, so a whole bunch of us basically started competing (a bit banterously but also kind of seriously) to "suck dick". It was funny but in retrospect, it's a bit sad that VCE Chinese is like this.

More proof that they don't even bother to hide it

Looking at your 45, I guess you were the best "cocksucker" in your class!  ;) ;)

yeah, it all boils down to your rank in the end, so don't be afraid to get competitive.

Does that mean that everyone is really competitive and don't really help each other?

ahah well that probably depends on your cohort. I mean my cohort was quite good actually, everyone was friendly and all. but I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the day everyone was keeping their cards close to their chest

Our coordinators tried to reassure us that our own cohort should not be your competiton. I reckon it is but most people are friendly tho

Yes, yes and yes.

Tall poppy syndrome everywhere.
Help them out though, because friendships last WAY longer than VCE. If they don't, file that down but don't stop helping. Never stop helping if you evidently can because that just makes you a total dipshit.
