There goes my tipping margin... tipped 65 points and was still nearly 50 short.

yup.... had 40 as mine. How boring. Why would they schedule such a snooze fest like that on a Friday night????

Yeah I see Cloke moving on but probably staying within Victoria rather than move out to Fremantle (though the prospect of Fremantle snagging Cloke and eventually McCarthy would give Fremantle a much improved forward line with Pavlich possibly retiring end of year and Mayne moving on but they'd have to work on his defensive pressure).

Either way, Cloke will still make around $500K since you massive forwards don't exactly grow on trees (despite the game now favouring tall, mobile forwards).
He still has one year of his 900k a year contract left, so if he was to be traded the receiving team would have to fork out 900k for just a year. Definitely not worth it, the game has gone well past him, not even a quarter the player he was back in the day (2-3 years ago). He would probably help out a developing team at this stage (e.g. Gold Coast, Brisbane, Essendon), get consistent games, leadership and kick 1-3 goals a game.

He won't get a game in any of the top 8 teams unless their tall forwards are injured. Even him in the team this year is a burden, no tackling pressure, no marking, no recovery, no second efforts, ball goes to him and then come out of the 50 immediately. Back in the day the ball would go to him, he would muscle out three other direct opponents, break packs and take the mark. Unfortunately that is gone now.

Pi and I have been neck and neck for like the last 7 rounds. One of us has to take the lead sooner or later. Who's going to make the risky tip?? :P. We've both been taking no risks and choosing higher percenters over the last couple of weeks because all we need to do is keep the score we have to win. Who's going to lose their patience? :P.

Just worry about maintaining your lead for the next 11 + finals :) The difference between 1st and 10th isnt actually that much (not as much as last year, heh) :)

It's going to be tough this week to get 5/6 tips..... some real difficult decisions to make.

North v Hawks (My Tip: North by 10, sorry guys I can't tip against my team!)
Depending on whether the key midfielders that are injured get up in time, they definitely have the potential (North). I really find it fascinating how people were like 'woo Geelong were just absolutely great'. When you really put things into perspective, pretty much our midfield was injured right from the first quarter. Of course Dangerfield, Selwood etc. were always going to have that room to roam free with that going on. Apparently North are considering debuting Corey Wagner who was recruited from the Brisbane Lions Academy in last year's draft. I will be looking forward to that if that happens, because he's been playing bloody good footy in the VFL.

West Coast v Brisbane (My Tip: West Coast)
Pretty easy tip here.

Freo v Port (My Tip: Port Adelaide)
This one is a bit tricky. Freo played pretty well at times last week, but Port are pretty good too (in certain aspects of their game). Venue is Domain, Freo's home turf. This'll be interesting.

Bulldogs v Cats (My Tip: Bulldogs)
I think it's not wise at all to choose Cats because of their "great" performance against my team last week. Games are won in the midfield (contested possession, hitouts, clearances etc) and with 3 main midfielders injured, of course they're going to dominate.

Swans v Melb (My Tip: Swans)
SCG, that's all I need to say here.

Bombers v GWS (My Tip: GWS)
Yawn.

Inaccuracy at the moment is hurting us on the scoreboard. We've done well so far, given most of our midfield are replacements... I just hope we can sustain it. I would +1 your post if I could, haha :P

Great game. Great tip.

Absolutely robbed by that last free. Should've been a free to us for a high tackle 100%. But the main issue was that we couldn't kick straight. Pretty solid loss (i'm happy still), given we have a fair few of our key players out and only went down by 9 points against the reigning premiers. No probs.

Definitely heaps of great signs for North. With many teams looking to be coming off their high (Hawks, Cats, Swans, Freo very dramatically haha), North is a very exciting prospect!

I think tonight, if anything, we've demonstrated that we aren't terrible (have noticed the drop in the 'pretenders' comments). I bet nearly everyone thought because we had a few injuries we'd get absolutely smashed and the final result is a good sign. Another 6-day break for a Thursday night match in Adelaide. Looking forward to that one.
