hey!  ;D
I've got a question about related texts,
I'm thinking of using my related text for the discovery module in my module C essay.
Do you think that this is a wise choice? My teacher said it was a smart idea since it would lower my amount of work, my related text works really well for module C, however although i went pretty well in my discovery exam I think it isn't as strong for discovery.
Some people I have spoken to have said that using the same related text isn't a good idea. I'm still planning on having back-up related texts so it's not like I will definitely use the same text for both modules.

Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!  ;)

Hey Elyse!

You've stated in your advanced english book you constructed a study table for mod C, do you have an example or guide I can visually follow? It would be great help as im struggling to grasp how it was exactly laid out. It would be great help :))
Thanks!

Heya! Super smiley that you've got the notes! An example of my Mod C study table is available here for free download :)

My school did  Peter Skrzynecki's poems from The Immigrant Chronicle last year for prelims. Would I be able to do any of his poems this year or do you know any other texts that I can use?
Sorry :)

You should check with your teacher, but pretty sure you can reuse!! I reused a Prelim text in my HSC, so as long as there is no special rule against it at your school, you should be fine ;D

Hey! I think it's a great idea, very efficient! But, it has to work well for both the AoS and Module C - Don't sacrifice effectiveness for the sake of convenience ;D so, if you think it is a compromise in quality, I'd invest the time learning something separate for the AoS :)

I resued a previously studied text as well. My friend was allowed to use Clockwork Orange which he studied in Ext 1 as a related for BNW. Still best to clarify with your teacher though.

Thanks! I'll email her on the weekend to see if I can use one. I still have the notes from Prelim so that should be good. :)
Your mind map isn't downloading on my laptop-Do you know why?

Do you know which poem would be best suited to people and landscapes?

Hmm, perhaps Postcard, which deals with imagined/remembered landscapes? Or 13 Mary Street, which is about the family home? ;D

Any chance anyone can advice me on prep for trials in regards to english:
how to re-familiarise with forgotten content?
maybe even a check list on how to prepare?

I've made a study timetable and allocated X hours over the week. I recommend you do the same :)

That's mine. I plan to allocate more time to english 2nd week also. But generally you need to revise all your Mod A/B/C and AOS content thoroughly. Maybe re-reading the texts etc.

Hey there! Great advice above, let me link you a few useful articles:

-Advanced Mega Thread, a heap of guides on various aspects of English success!
-How To Study for Advanced English
-Study Timetable Guide, basically a step by step guide on how to allocate your time properly, especially in the lead up to an exam

You'll want to start by making summary sheets of all the quotes/techniques/other info you need to remember (if you haven't already), then get that content into your brain however works best for you. Once you start to remember, start to write loads of practice essays/responses and get feedback on those! That is the best way to succeed ;D

I've got an exam coming up the first week back for Module B. All i know is its either going to be on Prufrock or Preludes, how should i study for it? Because even though i understand the content, I just am confused on how to study for it. All ive done so far is send paragraphs to my teachers but since its only going to be ONE of Eliot's poems...i am just not sure what to do!!
The end may justify the means as long as there is something that justifies the end.

Hi there! I've always had the same issue of "You aren't answering the question " in my exams and my most recent assessment had "Link to the question?" on every page, I think my teacher forgot to give any other feedback because I was so offtrack hahaa...
I always hear about writing a generic essay to memorise for the exam.
In the past I would use the practice questions that our teachers gave us to submit essay for feedback for my memorised essay but I think they might be too specific and probably isn't good to write a generic response on. Also, in the exam, I'm always so focused on trying to just get everything down in time that I completely forget about changing it to fit the question and when I do, my only way of doing it is explicitly mentioning parts of the question in my analysis.
The question I have is how exactly do I prepare a generic essay? (and if you have time, what other tips do you have of adapting a prepared response to the question?)
I've learnt to write a thesis by answering the question however if I don't know the question, I wouldn't really know what to write as a thesis.
Thank you in advanced and I'm sorry if this has been asked before ^^
