Hi Guys,
I was wondering:
1. When do we find out results for interview?
2. Is the JMSS Selection Process harsher than the MHS or Nossal High School
3. How many people get into the school from your school?
4. How do I start a forum
Hi Magic, I've done some light research and found the following:
1. Firstly, I'm in year 10 right now, and sat an interview for year 11. I can't be sure on how long, but I can tell you this: I sat my interview on the 18th of July and found out my result on the 5th of August I believe (it was either that or the third). So according to this, I would estimate about 3 or so weeks.
2. After reading up a bit, MHS accepts a minimum of 28 people from their selection process, with around 300 students trying out every year. Since the school starts in year 9, I imagine that getting through in year 10 would be much more difficult then year 9. I would estimate 30-40 students get in on average, so no, I believe MHS would be a lot harder to get into in year 10 compared to JMSS (as year 10 is the first year JMSS starts at). As for Nossal, it's even harder. It seems that there are around ~10 spots in year 10, and in year 11, about 2-4. I'm not sure if I answered your question in regards to how "harsh" the selection is, but the information provided should give you a rough idea on the "difficulty".
3. My school? I currently attend St Bedes (Mentone), and as far as I know, I am the only one in my year level who tried out for JMSS, never mind got in. I know of one other student who got into JMSS from my school, but he graduated about a year or two ago. I can't give you a solid answer to that, because I only know of 2 students from my school who even tried.
4. Firstly, find where you want to make it. Then, to the top right, there is a button with the text "New Topic". Here, I've attached an image.
