And in addition, you can put quotes from multiple users, like I've done here  ;D

You're welcome  ;)

What are some good ways to increase concentration?
1. Get off this website.
2. Deactivate your social media accounts
3. Get off the internet
4. Get off your computer (unless of course you have powerpoints, pdfs and word documents that are not printed and actually helpful)
5. Put your phone back in your room where you cannot get it.

But on top of that if you take breaks (not random breaks, carefully monitored breaks) then concentration can come back to you after you lose it.

And there's lots of internet tools to help you out:
- Leechblock (blocks specified sites on firefox)
- StayFocusd (blocks sites on chrome)
- Cold Turkey (blocks sites on all browsers in Windows)
- SelfControl (blocks sites on Macs)

Another popular concentration method is the Pomodoro Technique (spoiler: take 4x25 minute sessions of 100% concentration, no distractions or task-switching, with 5-minute breaks between).
VCE (2014): HHD, Bio, English, T&T, Methods

Uni (2021-24): Bachelor of Nursing @ Monash Clayton

Work: PCA in residential aged care

1. Get off this website.

Don't get off this website if you have questions to ask or want to access lots of notes and stuff  ;) Use the apps Heidi mentioned above to block all the bad ones, keep ones like ATAR Notes around to drop in for quick questions, keep any cool videos on content you find unlocked, etc  ;D

PS - I LOVE the Pomodoro Technique: Lots of short intervals with quick breaks in between as Heidi described works absolute wonders for maintaining concentration.

PPS - Try studying for different subjects in intervals!! Like, an hour on Physics, an hour on General Math, an hour on English, etc. It keeps your brain doing new stuff and keeps you from getting bogged down on one specific style of thinking. Your brain works best when you continually mix it up (hard if you are doing practice papers or what have you, or trying to chug out a big assignment, but perfect for keeping you focused on writing study notes or doing weekly revision of concepts, etc  ;D

Mate, I have certain duties to uphold here  ;) besides there is worse things for concentration than having the forums open to chuck up a question every now and again  ;D

In all honesty, the big things required from prelim chem for the HSC course are

- Formulae (esp. mole calculations)
- Some knowledge of intermolecular forces
- Some elementary knowledge of the energy topic (e.g. alkane series)
- Your fundamentals - what is a compound etc

True though but if you're like me and like to open book past papers then I think it's best to use them
