Definitely have a look at making some fact sheets or posters for the itty bitty details. So for legal, this would be the legislation. For modern, this would be the key dates and historian quotes, for example. I'm a bit fan of making nice notes. Like, coloured textas, laminated paper, the lot. Then I'd stick them around the house. In my room, at the breakfast table, in the shower, the back of the bathroom door, etc. Walk around saying the important details out loud as well! They really begin to stick when you say them out loud.

If you have a class mate (or willing family member), you should give them a mini tutorial on certain aspects of the syllabus. With a class mate, you can take turns. Try cut it down to say, explain the entire syllabus dot point in under 10 minutes. Or, talk about it for at least 7 minutes and if you can't make 7 minutes then you know you don't know enough - something like that! Explaining what you know to someone else is the best way to learn it yourself, and it also highlights the gaps in your own knowledge so that you know where to go back to :)

one of the best ways i've found to just purely memorise content is through doing worksheets homemade from my summaries (especially for SOR2 where there's quite a few dates and terms to memorise), also doing past papers can help to solidify content by actually applying it to questions....  :)

(Jake might be able to jump in here since he introduced the worksheet idea to me but also this forum Top Tip for Memorising Statistics (and all the World War I Stats You'll Need!) has more info)

"Worksheets" is a bit doubtful though because I've seen some worksheets that are good and others that are useless.

Agree with this, making your own is a great fix! Jake introduced me to this idea as well and I loved it  8) Jake is the king of weird and wonderful study techniques, I was always a little boring with my study methods in comparison  ;)

Yeah, that's a good start, but you're totally allowed to have chit chat here too :)

It just takes a bit of starting, conic curve - we'd love you to kick it off ;)

What is a 'nav bar'?

Also are there any non-school chit chat threads for HSC students?

There are the General Discussion Boards if you don't mind having a chit chat with us VCE'ers (to be fair tho VCE'ers are posting on the HSC thread anyway soooo...). Think you'll be a bit hard-pressed to find a board exclusive to HSC'ers free from us darned VCE kids that are just everywhere on this site. :P

Please feel free to get involved in the General Discussion Boards, as HopefulLawStudent said.

You are welcome to - just because you're HSC doesn't mean you can't get involved with the VCE group :)
