Holiday have come and gone!

I cannot believe it is less than 3 days before school's back - where have the last 6 weeks gone?! Surely I'm not the only one feeling in such a daze

To ease into the hectic nine months ahead, I would love to get to know some of you guys better! Here's a few questions:
   - What subjects are you studying this year and which is your favourite so far? Do you have any goals?
   - Which area are you from (eg Melbourne, Sydney, the middle of nowhere like me) and do you plan on moving for further studies or employment after the HSC?
   - What was the highlight of your summer break?

If you've already finished school by all means I'd love to hear about you too - let me know what you have done and your current plans!

I want to wish everyone good luck with this year. Work hard and it will pay off in the end. Time will absolutely fly, when you reach term 4 you will be wondering where the time went. Keep everything in perspective and don't get caught up in the whole "This is what I need in this subject", it brings along unnecessary stress. Just try your hardest, that is all you can do.

As for me, I will be starting my Bachelor of Science at UoM in about a month. In three weeks I will be moving out to live at one of the residential colleges. I am looking forward for the new adventure, continuing to learn what I love and seeing where life is going to take me.

Also, to those of us who drive, remember that school zones will be enforced as of next week.

Starting first year at uni this year  :D
I'm from Melbourne, trying to get some tutoring work. Planning to catch up on my driving hours and I'm looking forward to UoM Science (like sweetcheeks) planning on majoring in mathematics and statistics / engineering / physics (trying them all out this year) and maybe getting a concurrent diploma in informatics :)
Enjoying the (4 month) holidays and trying to help some people on here with their work :)

To all those starting their final year at school, work hard, you won't regret it, but also set aside some time for yourself. Don't overwork yourself, focus in class and don't destroy your body trying to do everything at once. Eat well, sleep well, and work hard.
Good luck!

Excellent thread idea! ^_^
I wish all 2017ers the best of luck throughout the whole of this year ;D

Anyways:
Highlight of my break: reading as many books as I possibly could 8)
What I'm doing this year: some niche course at a tiny Monash campus probably the only one on the forum who's doing this one or one of the other two variants...
Goals for this year: try to learn a new language and taking life one step at a time! :)
2017-2019: Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Formulation Science)
2020: Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Honours) Read my uni journey here!

The Parkville area is a lot more lively than Clayton, so at least you've got that going for you! (Plus, you're closer to UoM :D)
2016–2018: Bachelor of Biomedicine (Neuroscience), The University of Melbourne
2019–2022: Doctor of Medicine, The University of Melbourne

Hehe nah those are some brilliant subjects, you seem super duper intelligent! Will you be doing UMAT for medicine? Good luck with Advanced too hehe, last year the unseen texts were crapola!

Good luck with everything I know you'll reach success!!

The shots have been fired! ;)

Thought I'd participate a little even if all the questions don't really apply to me, I love this thread ;D

This year is a big mix of electrical engineering subjects (last year I did my last ever Math subject, a little bittersweet). I'm also doing a cool course on employment and careers - Resumes, interviews, seemed interesting. Only have to do like 5 hours of class for it all semester - Loving life ;)

Which area are you from (eg Melbourne, Sydney, the middle of nowhere like me) and do you plan on moving for further studies or employment after the HSC?
I am from far Western Sydney - With traffic it is about 2.5 hours drive to UNSW. I've learned to love the radio ;)

What was the highlight of your summer break?
The lectures at UTS!! ;D but my girlfriend and I had our first holiday together which was great too - Probably shouldn't put the lectures ahead of that... Gulp ;)

Just some classic healthy competition heheh (;

2.5 hours into uni for every lecture?! That sure is dedication! But lucky you, save on rent (even if you have to pay heaps for petrol oops heheh)

Always room for personal and public highlights hahah! Where'd you go on holiday to? I had a boyfriend for a year and we had all ythe same subjects together last year for HSC including extension, we recently split as he left for ADFA (still good friends though!) and I have his mum as a teacher this year, look who will be a teacher's pet haha!

The Parkville area is a lot more lively than Clayton, so at least you've got that going for you! (Plus, you're closer to UoM :D)

From a tourist perspective, Parkville does seem beautiful! I went to UoM a year back for the Kwong Lee Dow young scholar's program and honestly fell in love!

Thanks for the well wishes! Good luck to you starting your own future yourself! Oh my I remember looking at accomodation at UoW, which college are you staying at there? Seems like such a beautiful place and has such great vibes there! What career path are you looking at taking after Bachelor of Science? :)

Which books do you recommend? As soon as the HSC is over I'm hitting my local library and every book store I can find!  Which language are you most passionate to learn too?

Thanks for wishing luck, good luck to you too!

Just to the Central Coast! Nowhere exciting ::) aw sorry to hear that, what a weird situation!! At least you've got a teacher you know well ;)
