If i get an interview, is it with the principal? And does half of the students who try out for year 11 get an interview or is it less?

The interview panel is made up from the principle, both of the assistant principles and other alumni. They randomly select who gets who. I'm not really sure about the interview part... Hope I helped :)

Hey, does anyone know a good site for scientific essay prompts?
Perhaps one that gives you a short paragraph of information to start you off?

Ahah I also try to write out notes T-T it feels ineffective to me, but I dunno.

For science questions, you could try out this site: http://mcq.bostes.nsw.edu.au/course/school-certificate/science/
It's good for scientific reasoning, if that's what you're after.

thanks for that, it's great.
so, do about 900 kids go for the exam and 400 get interviews, and then about 200-250 kids get in?
are the interviews very long or in-depth? is it like an actual conversation where you can kinda talk and take it where you want, or is it like a super quick 3 minute in-and-out?
thanks!!

From my understanding:
1000+ sit the entrance exam
~500 get an interview
200 get in (3% rule for each school, and an equal gender ratio)

For the interviews, you will probably get around 10 or so minutes.

*I may be wrong, please correct me if I am.

oh god that's like 1 in 5 odds...... it's only a little worse than selective last year I guess (1 in 4) so i can still be kind of hopeful. i'll be happy if i get an interview, so we just have to be better than 50% of the population..  :-\ :-\ thx!

You guys are so lucky lol

For year 11:
400+ sit the exam
~200 get an interview
20 get accepted (I guess 3% from each school wont really matter to me since no one from my school is probably doing it)

the interview in total is around 1 hour because there are separate sections to it.

There's nothing that I can say that will make things better, but yeah:
Try your best.
If it doesn't work out, have a Plan B or find something that'll make you happy

Hey guys....
I stuffed up the maths and numeric so bad... Everyone is saying it was easy, and it was but I guessed like 15.... Probably stuffed it up real bad... The science was okay and the writing was great.... In the Prac I was laughing at a few sentences I wrote.... They didn't make sense but choose to leave them... I feel so bad rn... Like I'd probably be looking at this in 3 months and be either crying of happiness or sadness....

But message to future me and everyone else:
This test does not stop you from having a happy family, being rich and all the things you want from life... It's just another lesson if you don't make it in... A lesson that you must learn off ^_^

Ah right, thanks for correcting me.
I was only thinking about the individual interviews, and forgot to include the puzzles ahah.

Sorry for bothering ;; But I'm curious, when they look at your report card, does it matter if you have like, C+ for english or something?

you guys can ask me questions too, I'm online very often.

it does to an extent, but if you can explain why you did bad and how you will improve from that then it could even be advantageous. I almost failed science in year 8 and got significantly higher in year 9.
