Yeah, like a lot of things, signing up for stuff like this is often the hardest part.
I really encourage you to give it a crack!
(I know I'm a bit late but just had to reply to this! Hope it gets seen aha)
I'll be honest, I have an on-off stuttering issue that I've struggled with since I was little, but I loooooved debating about stuff in a debating club at school. It was really a nerve wracking thing for me to do (knowing that I could mess up and embarrass myself at any moment) but I did it anyways with the support of one of my teachers (shout out to him for being so kind, even though he didn't know about it) and three mates, we participated in a small comp and ended up coming 2nd. We were very close though to first though. And although I was initially disappointed in myself for not doing as well as I wanted to (I did end up getting a tad too nervous at the end) it was still a great experience knowing that I gave it a go, and that took me one step further in improving with public speaking. So it's definitely a skill that takes time to be developed, no matter who you are. Everyone starts off somewhere.
