Ooh this is exciting.... What does the LOTE lecture entail?
I'm incredibly hyped for this one - we've been tossing around the idea of doing language-specific lectures for a while, but were never sure if there'd be sufficient interest for each one (plus it's a lot of extra effort, and we could use the venue space for other, bigger subjects :/ ) Then along comes Aidan who's like "yeah, I can totally do a lecture that's relevant to all LOTEs with heaps of advice for the oral and written exams, no probs!"
I believe the plan is to have the first third of the lecture be about the oral exam, the second about the written exam, and the third about general skill refinement and tips for exam preparation

So unless you're doing Latin, Greek, or Hebrew and won't have an oral exam in the next couple of weeks, this lecture will be relevant no matter which language you're studying (i.e. lots of meta-advice about how to structure your answers - written or verbal, and a step-by-step process for the listening section of the exam that helps prevent you getting all lost and bamboozled, etc.)
I'd highly recommend checking that lecture out. As someone who did Indo SL in Year 12 and was virtually fluent, but didn't know any of these strategies or guidelines, I would've
killed to have someone explain all this stuff to me back then!
