Don't stress mate, exam 2 tomorrow could save us (  or fuck us completely :(  ) let's just worry about that now.

Usually it's (unfortunately) the latter :( Exam 1 tends to be much easier than Exam 2, so I suggest to be mentally prepared for the last extended response question for tomorrow.

HAHAHAHAH yeah I'm well aware, I was trying to be optimistic :)

I checked last year's grade distributions for Exam 1, I may have read them wrong, but an A+ was a 34/40, I think it will be higher this year, I didn't think the exam was hard, I'm just an idiot :(

If i used radians instead of degrees for question 6 about tan. would I lose marks?? instead of pi/4 i did 45° and so on.. :(

I don't think so. They didn't specifically mention that your answer needs to be in radians/degrees.

Do you guys think a 35/40 might slide into an A+ ? soo disappointed in myself but obviously moving on.

Last year, the cutoff was 34/40 unlike previously years where it was 37/40. Considering that most people found it relatively okay, it may be higher. But you never know and it's great that you're moving on! Exam 2 is worth more than Exam 1, so it's best to focus on your efforts in this exam and put Exam 1 behind you :D

Did you get A or A+ for SACs?

A+. I think my SACs scaled to 100 or close because of a strong cohort (we had a few 50s and lots of 40+s)

Did we need to label the end point on the graph (-3, -4)? Because it said to label axis intercepts and stationary points but didn't mention endpoints

Why was the graph not accurate ? The tangent should have been drawn at x= 1 which was the x intercept of the graph.
Is VCAA allowed to do that? I can understand its not to scale but I'm sure the graph threw some people off.

Same, was it just me or did the thing not look exactly to scale when working stuff out 😭
it was not to scale, the gradient of the tangent was -1 at (1,0)

Not too difficult overall, I expect the A+ cutoff will be 35/40. The diagram on the last question threw me off so much and I wasted about 10 mins in confusion. Very relieved when I talked to my friend afterwards and we got the same coordinates for C. Also pissed at the modulus question, definitely lost a mark there  :'(

7b - shouldn't the largest value of c be -1, not -3?

For the last question,
How can the tangent BC be defined at x=1 if the derivative of the curve doesn't include x=1 based on the previous part? I think I lost marks only on that fact  :-\

Hey guys...

I misinterpreted the second last question.... (finding the tangent). How many marks would I lose overall? (I think I'll get the method mark for the 1st question).

This affects the coordinates I got for C as well.
