New Year Resolutions 2018

I know not everybody is a fan of new year resolutions, but I quite like them. Do you have any for next year?

My resolution for 2017 was pretty simple: be more mindful, and less mind full. I don't think I succeeded, really. I had a good year overall, but I don't think I was more mindful than 2016 - a bit disappointing, but no huge catastrophe.

The way I'm viewing it, it gives me an opportunity to really nail it in 2018, which will be important for me. So I'm hoping to just chill the fuck out, and also cut down coffee consumption (potentially linked). I'd also like to start driving.

How about you? 8)

I have a dreadful habit of not sticking to these, but I definitely want to try and be more out-going, and get more involved at uni/make some more friends. I treated uni as just a kind of "go to class, leave" this year, which I regret, as I've only made a few, solid friendships. I still really only hang out with my high school friends, which is not something that I want to stop, just want to add some new people to the mix as well :) Hopefully next year I'll get involved in more extra-curricular stuff that will give me more of the "uni" experience :)

My resolution for this year was to learn to code. I did start it, but didn't get too far into it, so for 2018, my resolution is again to learn to code (Python, Javascript, maybe some HTML and CSS). I also want to start increasing my productivity and decreasing my procrastination. Many times I'd find I could get a good 20 minutes of study before being consumed in half an hour of youtube, whoops. So those are my resolutions for next year :)

Cut down on coffee?????? No way! I love coffee. I'd like to finish off my 120 hours by April, and then relax until I can get my P's in December... I am going to aim to get more involved with my class at school, and also with the rest of the school as a whole. I also want to become good at the flute in 2018. I've started to learn, but the practicing kind of hasn't happened, so I want that to change.

I have a dreadful habit of not sticking to these, but I definitely want to try and be more out-going, and get more involved at uni/make some more friends. I treated uni as just a kind of "go to class, leave" this year, which I regret, as I've only made a few, solid friendships. Except for the fact that I'm talking about school, not uni, you took the words right out of my mouth. I feel exactly the same. This is exactly where I want my year to go.

My resolution for this year was to learn to code. I did start it, but didn't get too far into it, so for 2018, my resolution is again to learn to code (Python, Javascript, maybe some HTML and CSS). The productivity and procrastination was another thing I wanted to say... Sadly I have way too much of an issue with this, like spending way too much time on AN! Good idea to learn to code. I used to know how to code in Python, but I've forgotten most of it now.

Cut down on coffee?????? No way! I love coffee.

Sure, me too. But I think it's negatively affecting me.

Maybe a good idea, but I don't have the strength of character to do it!

So that you can look back on it in a year, what are your present thoughts?

My new year's resolution would be to try to get more involved with volunteering and humanitarian work on top of coping well with first year uni ;D I want to not only make more friends, but also keep in touch with the very good friends I made during high school. Perhaps also visit my high school some time and get involved with our school's alumni program so that I can keep participating in some school activities (e.g. helping out at House Performing Arts Night)

Hopefully I can stick to this new year's resolution unlike my previous ones!!

Not great at sticking to these either but like Sudodds I'd love to be more out-going especially going into uni next year. I'd like to make a few close friends at uni and get used to uni life (not looking forward to the train and bus trips). I also want to get my P's next year (even though I still need 65 more hours!)

Lately I’ve been getting back into practising yoga, so I want to really embrace it next year. I used to go to classes, but I gave it up when I got so busy with uni. But, even 10 minutes has such a huge effect on my mood. So, that’s the goal: Make time for at least 10 minutes of regular yoga practise, either in the mornings, or before bed. I’ll be happy with 3-5 times a week, but every day is the end goal, I think.

I also want to be more mindful and more positive, so I’d like to start a gratitude journal, and possibly just journal more in general so I don’t feel the need to bottle everything up.

I also need to pay more attention to my physical and mental health next year, because I’ve been neglecting both for far too long. Nourishing myself and seeing a counsellor or therapist next year will be a good place to start. :)

Also, ditto re: making friends.
