Why would parents cringe at their child becoming a teacher? It's not a bad profession.
....traditional parents I'm talking about I tried to stress that distinction I was heavily generalising. LOL, this is from a person whose parents think Bachelor of Arts= drawing xD. Parents only cringe ebcause they think its underpaid...but in recent times this has changed dramatically, with Victorian teachers being highest paid in the nation.
@appian way= i
DID NOT say teachers are dumb (in relation to the -ve karma) please copy/paste where I said that.
I ensured I included the statement where I highly value teachers because i KNEW people would take that comment out of context= PARENTS in their generation would not tend to want their 99.95 student becoming a teacher, or an artist. Read Kite Runner...read/watch asian books movies or meet people...visit the middle east...I am talking about parents who want their child to be lawyers, doctors etc.
@everyone. Why has it all been turned against me for merely voicing a generalisation. I do not see why I am forced to defend myself against baseless accusations. I DID NOT agree with the stances taken by SOME parents, just merely pointing them out.
To point out I was not being serious, please read my reply to chem-nerd. She did not accuse me of anything, but clarified what I was saying, and so I replied to her in agreement she was correct.
If I had anything AGAINST teaching, why would I have posted in a previous thread I consider becoming a lecturer as a career possibility. Without teachers society would be stuffed.
