Anyone manage to figure out question 20 of MC?

What was the question again? I initially struggled with multiple choice 17-20, but managed to struggle through it and get answers I'm very confident in

Didn't it say that a was any real number? I thought it a>1 since that's the condition if we want just 1 turning point.

Ooooh maybe, but I think having a<0 would reflect the entire graph causing there to be more than one intersection right? not sure

How are people saying yesterdays was harder??????? Did we get different exams???? With the exception of the last question yesterday, today’s one was ten times harder.
I reckon today's exam 2 was harder than any of the previous years methods exam 2's

For the question where we had to find the gradient of the second slope or whatever i set my calculator to degrees and got ~0.067
but i then used this value in the next question and got P as (~53.9, ~4.9). Am I likely to get any consequential marks here?

yeah a>1 was a condition as the question asked 'if there is only one turning point, find a such that....'
So a was implicitly more than 1.

Yeah a cant be negative if there's one intersection but also it can't be between 0 and 1.

Yeah that's one mark lost for me. Should have known there wouldn't be two ranges given the previous questions. Surprised I got the answer though as no one else in my cohort did
