oh ok thank you......that makes me feel better...........lol..........anyway.......can i ask if you accelarates downward..........is it a or -a
Depends if you set up as positive then it would be -a.

If up is negative then it'd be +a.
What if you didn't define up and down? I just used the wording of the question, one was up one was down therefore one was negative and one was positive. Missed marks for answer?

for the cis (theta) question

I got

- square rt (7/8) + square rt(1/8) i

Heh I did exactly the same I think, fark

There was quite a few things which were missing (which is inevitable I guess). But mechanics, graphs, vector calculus were major absences.

-square rt (7/8) + square rt (1/8)i is correct

try is on the calculator let inverse cos= 3/4 and then divide the angle by 2 to get the angle require then cos of that and sin of that i is the answer you have above. i got that also

Yeah but it's not simplified so you will probably lose some marks

yeh maybe i got it in a different form i got -square rt(14)/2 + square rt(2)/4

equals the same thing just little more simplified

would you get a mark for showing cis(theta) = cos(theta) + isin(theta) in your method. i subbed in wrong values though

A question: when it asked you to verify solution is it fine to 'show that' it is a solution. So for the (0,4) is a y-intercept question is it fine to just let x = 0 and find that (0,4) and (0,1) are the intercepts as opposed to LHS = ... = RHS. A bit scared about this lol

What did you write as your final answer? If you had m = -2, 5, 1 then yes you'd lose a mark since that's incorrect answer.

what i exactly wrote was      e^(mx)=0 x-5=0 x+2=0
                                           x=1       x=5     x=-2
