Just remember that if you found your passages a bit ordinary so did everyone else most likely, and examiners are comparing you to everyone else who wrote on them. If the passages were really good, then most people probably found them really good. You may find that even though they weren't as accessible as you would have liked, you can still score highly, because the examiners will be comparing you to everyone else who did those passages. All you have to do is write better than everyone else who did them. Congratulations guys...it's over. All you have to do now is wait for your marks.

Hedda was fine. Not my greatest writting, but enough to get a decen mark, my guess around 16.
Frankenstein was the shittest thing ever lol! Worst passages! I actually think i will get a good 2-3 marks lower than in my practise exam. Never written such an incoherent crappy essay in my life lol... not happy!

There goes my minimum of 35 in lit!!

Congrats all!

Eh it was ok overall, wrote on Hedda and Larkin.

Hedda passages were ok, but what the hell was with the focus on Thea this year? She was in every passage... maybe they should rename the book.

As for Larkin, I was really upset we didn't get Mr Bleaney (because it's so easy to link with almost every other poem), really happy we didn't get Aubade (love the poem and every time I practice it i just wanna write an entire essay on it).

Love Songs in Age and An Arundel Tomb were great, Whitsun is crap - although the extract they cut out was pretty good.

Now the hard part... Book Bonfire? Or sell the books and use the money to get so pissed I forget all about them?

I think I went ok with one of my essays, but the other one went really badly, did anyone else dislike the Hedda Gabler passages this year?

I found it a little hard to pull links out of them, but individually they were easy to analyse...yeah, they could have been a lot better.

I tried to write on the whole Hedda as a psychological study... but it was a bit difficult to pull enough out of the passages

Basically started with his writing style as naturalistic/conversational then went on the stage direction > said that those two together are used by Ibsen to portray his characters as realistic individuals.

Then went on to the psychological aspect... the last 2 years passages were so much better...

I was really considering scrapping my planning and writing something on Thea's character instead but I chickened out of that..

What did you guys write on for Hedda or Larkin?

Oh god I've forgotten what I wrote for Hedda! D: All I remember is one little comment about the stage direction [moving her chair closer to her] and physical/emotional dominance.
