I hope it's not too much of an eyesore, but we need to start recouping costs.

I DON'T KNOW, IT SHOWS FOR ME BUT NOBODY ELSE. :'( I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY.

Edit: As an afterthought, this is probably some sick joke - the absolute irony that I'm the ONLY one who can see my ads. >_>

Yeah. It's good. What didn't you try Google AdSense, it's much more better than Adbrite :P

But I have to go to school now. LOL. Peace :)

Hmm

Just out of curiosity, because it's on the side, do you know how big the average user's screen resolution is?
Just because in this day and age I've still met people wandering around with 800x600 still and it would look pretty damn big and annoying to them

It's squished everything up on my screen.
Could it go at the top? That way it is still seen without making every squishy?

It's squished everything on my screen too! There must be a better position, it's pretty intrusive in that position. lol

If you got a horizontal one below

it might work (because that box is stretched out with the logo atm anyway)

i can see it! it's not to bad but then again horizontally would be better i supposed because it doesn't make the forum feel squished.

Hmmm, I'll see if I can get a narrower banner. No promises, but I'll investigate the adbrite options. The skyscraper is only temporary. You see that expanse of space in between the logo and the "welcome" stuff in the banner? That's where a horizontal banner is going to go, and there will be a "latest notes" feed on the left. It'll be tight, but for now, the skyscraper is all we can go with. Thanks for your patience on this :)

i'd like to ask the difficult question: WHY?!

we're a vce community, not a bunch of opportunity shoppers!

i'd also like to ask where this money is going to (is it going to come back to the community or is it going in someone's pocket as profit??)

and lastly, what kind of administrative system do we have? it's owned by enwiabe, sure, but it wont be anything without the users, shouldnt we at least have a say in it? (or are decisions made by enwiabe for enwiabe's satisfaction? <-------- unless of course you like ads??)

as you can tell, i'm terribly against ads, but such is me

Dude, I invested time and money into this project. I want to make some money back. Not only that, but this will also be my income during my university years. The notes will ALWAYS be free. The forums will ALWAYS be free, but I need to make money. It's a capitalist society, Mao :P. I'm just trying to do it in a way that keeps VCENotes free. If you want, it could always be ww.paidVCEnotes.com :P (Note: this was a joke)
