Is it alright to listen to music while u study? does it have a dramatic impact on your results?  at my school we are allowed to bring music to listen to so long as we dont share with our friends

It depends on the individual really. I like a little background noise.

When doing questions I think it's fine. Though when covering new material I can't concentrate, I turn it off.

It's not so much "I cannot concentrate"

It's more of, you do not RETAIN the stuff your reading/writing/doing because 1/2 your brain is humming along, or listening to the music.

But yeah I cannot concentrate either

nova is right :) but if you can learn to not pay so much attention to it like ItsSKC and myself its just some background noise :)

It's not so much "I cannot concentrate"

But I cannot concentrate.

:2funny:

But seriously the problem is retention, I understand what I read, but by the time I get to the next line/paragraph I have forgotten it already :buck2:

I normally have quiet jpop playing while reading theory, but music is never on while doing questions.

Women are just use to forgetting things? So it's no different when 'multitasking' :P

You said you can forget without music, so music doesn't affect you because you are used to forgetting. Women perceive themselves as better at 'multitasking' because they don't realise that men only complain about 'multitasking' because they don't forget normally. :P

This is quite sexist, everyone this is said in jest.
