2009 School Rankings

Thought it might be interesting starting a thread to see your opinions on how schools went. See anything suprising? Any schools do better/worse than expected?

Congratulations should go to Mt. Scopus Memorial College, who topped the state.

What grabbed my attention was Xavier College. Paying that sort of money to achieve a median of 34 and only 19% > 40 is a bit embarrassing I'd like to think.

2009:
Math Methods: 35 [41]
Vietnamese: 22 [26]

2010:
Chemistry: 40+
Physics: 45+
Specialist Maths: 40+
English: 45+
Japanese: 30+

Hopefully: 99+
Ambition: Medicine, Pharmacy or Radiography.

Ignore the above. I've failed Year 12 and life. I've had an epiphany... I'm destined to become a gigalo.

Check out the Herald Sun. They've only got rankings from 1-24 but I'm sure it wont be long until the whole list is sorted. And in the middle section they've got all the schools with details and whatnot.

You can also check your school's VCE performance on the VCAA website here: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/schoolstats/postcompcompletiondata-2009schools.pdf

They won't sort out the entire list.  There was a big debate about it not too long ago.  Why won't they do it?

Well, it's because ranking schools based on just VCE results won't provide a "valid indicator" of school performance.

Hey what you went to SKC?
I go there now :D *pro grin*

Nah it's good to know we topped the APS. Paying a fortune to go to other APS schools doesn't necessarily mean high VCE results + sporting premierships :P

And to be honest I wasn't expecting the class of 09 to be THIS good. Let's hope 2010 is even better.
