I think I'm going to sound like a noob here... but what's a derived score? I've heard of it before but I don't know what it is :O

Anyway that's more or less right, except I'm not sure it's the teacher who reviews the marks, but rather the VCAA.
Also, it's not just hospital, it can be other reasons allowed by the VCAA

your gat scores are used to calculate ur ss.
