Don't you guys get tired though just by travelling?
yeah sometimes travelling is pretty boring, which is why you should to minimise the number of days you go to uni haha, or if you have useless lectures and stuff, just don't go to them and put all your tutes on 1 day

I like this idea. Haven't actually thought about that.

how many days a week do you usually go to uni?

Oh that's why it was only one day. I don't like studying at home though -- my mum will pick on me if she sees me. In other words, she tend to make me do all the house chores, and hence, my studying time is reduced.

No offense, but why are a number of you STILL worrying about what your parents think? Come on, now, you're all at uni, which means you're all 17 or 18 at the least. That's when you guys should be starting to cut the umbilical cord and taking control of your lives. If you need to take a day off because you can't be bothered travelling four hours to get to a one-hour lecture, just do it without worrying about "parental approval."

Anyway, I also live in the west and need to travel four hours daily (two hours each way). Like TrueTears, I also try to cram all of my tutorials in 1-2 days and end up skipping all of my lectures. I've found that I perform just as well in every unit irrespective of whether I attend the lectures or not (in the Arts faculty anyway). Last year, I managed to cram all of my tutorials into one day (9am-6pm) and I found that it was far too mentally draining, even with a one-hour break in between. I was completely buggered by 4pm and ended up nearly falling asleep a few times in my last tutorial of the day. Two days per week is perfect for me.

After nearly two years of travelling from Werribee to Monash, I've gradually become accustomed to a routine of reading and sleeping on the trains.

If you sleep on trains... don't you get your stuff stolen?! and/or headaches from reading on a moving train?
