Just wondering if somebody could let me know about the following questions:
* Change of normal chromosome I and normal chromosome 2 - I said 8/24 = 1/3 = 33%
* The stupid fish gene sequencing question.
* The centromere question
@ Translocation - why is he phenotypically normal?!
these are my responses and are by no means 100% correct
* Change of normal chromosome I and normal chromosome 2
there were four possible genotypes, N1 with N2, N1 with R2 (retarted 2), R1 with N2 and R1 with R2. therefore chance of both N1 and N2 is 1/4
* The stupid fish gene sequencing question
i cant remember qn u gtta be specific
* The centromere question
-mitosis can occur properly
-when the hybrid primate/man thing mates with another, it now has a homologous chromosome within which a fertile zygote can form
Translocation - why is he phenotypically normal?!
i said because all genetic material is conserved. no deletions/mutations ect.
